WoW: How do you make your gold?

wait wait wait, Iv just started back again a week ago (lvl 60) Am i right in thinking that just doing 70-80 quests and selling stuff i find will make me 5k gold?

So you dont have to do the epic grind for the epic flying mount anymore?
You'll get about 5k gold yeah levelling up yeah, but you'll spend about 1k of it on spells or abilities.

on my level 80 -buy level 77+ greens for less then 9g + disenchant + sell mats = loads of gold for me :)
and then on my level 70 alt - go around outland selling netherbloom for 15 to 30 a a stack )

also daily quests

thank god for duel spec best 1000g i spent in a while :)

I completely understand what Multi-boxing is, however, it requires a lot of patience to set up, and a hell of a lot of practice to effectively control that many characters at once, thus the 'how do you have the patience for that?' question.

Back in the day i just bough it lol, yes i slightly pathetic.

However lets say it takes me one hour to earn £7 at tesco

for 2 hours work i could get like 1000g

It would take me a lot longer to grind that :)

The time spent grinding could be spent at work earning more dosh, so when you think about it, it makes sense!

This was back in the old days when daily quests didn't exist.

Just to increase the length of my online wang i should clarify

I havent played wow in over 2 years :D

Back in the good old level 60 days, I spent my time farming Tyr's Hand in Eastern Plaguelands.

Used to have very good drop rates, 10-50 odd silver a killa nd lots of runecloth, Helped me get my original epic mount!

Burning Crusade and onwards I diddnt bother, Just used to get by as it were.

If you've bought gold for real cash, you haven't got a wang at all, stumpy.

Well let me think

I could spend 2 hours at work earning £20 which got me around 1500g back then or i could grind for 10-15 hours

15 hours - 2 = 13

That leaves me 13 hours to work in which i could earn over £100 pound

But if you want to sit there grinding all day, go for it :)

I'm the one who's £100 up in real money

Other than daily quests, I farm crystalized elements and Relics of Ulduar in The Storm Peaks since a lot of people can't be bothered to grind for them. Usually along the way I pick up Book of Glyph Mastery that sells for about 300-500g on my server depending on the market at the time. Frost Lotus is also a good seller if you've got herbalism, about 50g each if not more due to the nerf in the drop rate and I pick up a few from The Storm Peaks grind.

Care to explain more? (Storm peaks grind)

Never met anyone good at the game who hasn't bought gold at some point :p

It seems like the most pathetic thing in the world to do at first but when you think about the hours you've been grinding that could have been spent in work it makes sense.

As i said grind for 15 hours, make 1500g

Work for 15 hours, spend 2 hours wages on gold (1500)

You now have £100 more than the person who has been grinding non stop because they have too big a wang and pride to pay for it.

Ah well, their loss.

Relics of Ulduar drop from just about every mob in The Storm Peaks and are used for reputation with Sons of Hodir, who give some of the best enchants when exalted. I think it's something like 10 for 250 reputation so they are always in demand.

I get Crystalized Air from Stormriders in the north west part of The Storm Peaks or Scions of Storm in The Howling Hollow cave.
I get Crystalized Fire from Wailing Winds (in the cave to the left of The Howling Hollow). These seem to sell the most.
I get Crystalized Water from Icebound Revnents (although water elementals in Zul'Drak supposed to be better due to numbers).
I get Crystalized Earth from the various golems in the place.

There are loads of Icethorn/Lichbloom herbs in the area so flying around the mountains gets me 3 per herb location (or with a chance of crystalized life/frost lotus). If you've got the epic flyer it doesn't take long to do a few circles picking up a nice earner for the AH if you want to sell the herbs instead of hoarding them.

The Book of Glyph Mastery I must have picked up from Stormforged Eradicator while grinding earth elements.

I usually only do it after the dailies if I'm really bored, though it seems to be a decent money maker for me. It's helped me make enough for items like Moonshroud Robe/Gloves to start some instances later if I respec to holy. :)

Sorry to threadjack, but how long does it take to level from 0-80?
:)
The first 20 or so is relatively easy. I have 2 chars (one 48, one 31) and I got them to to those levels in about 4 days each using 3x XP bonus. No idea what it's like onwards but I've heard that 70-80 is a real chore and can take weeks.

Completely depends on how much you play

If you play non stop then 10/14 days, by non stop i mean 16-20 hours a day knowing exactly where to level.

If you play a lot 5-6 weeks

If you're a casual gamer it can take over 12 weeks.
