Angels and Demons

If you take away the overly booming music that's constantly in the background then all you really have is a travel guide to the Vatican.

This stuck over everything, even when they're just walking calmly down the road, much much louder than most backing music usually is

Planning to go and watch this movie very soon, is this actually worth watching after reading the book and what a SUCCESS, people have claimed they have missed one or two things, what you reckon guys?

It's like the movie Teki and magick would make if they were let loose in Hollywood.

And just as well written.

film was entertaining enough, but poorly linked, too rushed, too much thinking out loud and running from location to location!

Didn't think much of this film at all. The bad guy who kept shooting cops was just naf. The story in the book looks better in my head.

Good twist at the end though - i knew it was coming having read the book.

It was reasonably entertaining. Much like another poster in here, I wanted to see Star Trek, but for the sake of less nagging, I went to see this instead :D

I think they took a lot of the criticism from The Da Vinci Code and tried to change how they did this one, but instead it came across a bit over the top. Someone mentioned the near constant background music - it was noticeable to me (but a good cover for crunching popcorn :D) and I thought some of the visuals and music were shoved right in your face in an attempt to change the pace of the film - it was a little blatant to me.

But Tom Hanks was good, some of the dialogue was funnier than I expected (although the cinema I was in was, as ever, immune to subtle humour) and some of the other performances were good too. Poor performances are awarded to the bad guy (who just wasn't sinister enough - imagine C3PO taking out a dozen stormtroopers in a firefight) and Ewan McGregor's Irish accent, which was awful.

Saw this last night with my mum (don't lol).

I'd give this film a reasonably solid meh/10.

***spoilers follow***
It was just... completely unremarkable in every way. it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good.
The whole capturing anti-matter thing, ugh. The cynicist in me wouldn't let that go, and the fantasist in me couldn't pretend to entertain it.
It was mildly boring, wholly predictable (i've not read the book), lacklustre in its disguising of set pieces (the build up where you're supposed to think the speaker of the clergy (or w/e he was called) was in on the charade so he could become pope), obvious in it's execution of set pieces (who didn't see Ewan McGregors character coming with that little gem?) , and really was only saved by the fact it didn't create one of those pathetic raomance-in-a-crisis things between the protagonist and his female cohort.

I've seen it, satisified my curiosity, and never need to watch it again. Again, it wasn't a bad film, i don't think i wasted £7.70 to get in, but i'll save myself the £13 it would cost on DVD.

Have only just seen this and thought it was very good. I enjoy these sort of films and the story behind this and The Da Vinci Code so there was never much chance of me not liking it.

Film was interesting and I enjoyed it, though I did wait until I had watched everything else I wanted to first at the cinema (I have an unlimited pass) so not quite sure what that says about it.

If they make another "sequel" i'll probably just wait for a dvd rental though... not worthy of the cinema prices imo. Tom Hanks again though gave a good performance...as he always does.
