Pace users are getting the update this week or next.
Lots of people are now reporting the letter about the new guide came through the post. Seems for all versions of the box too, people saying 3002, 3003 and 3004.
I have a Pace but didn't get one. Kinda strange, but i think my mail is backlogged cause i should have got a Lovefilm rental today too.

It's to upgrade the EPG, no the picture quality - give you more functional menus.

Do you know the model number? I have the 9F3004, but didn't get a letter. Some people with the 3004 are saying they did, but the majority of users reporting having the letter are 3002's and 3003's.
Reading on AVForums and Digitalspy, it seems that other people with 3002's and 3003's etc didn't get letters also, so its probably down to the postal service.
My Pace box is 2009 also, so hopefully it will be the end of this week when we all get it.

Not a clue what number I have, will take a look if I remember on the long journey downstairs
HD Picture quality seems no different on the new EPG as the old on my box, it did mess up a pair of recordings though, the programs recorded, but at the end it continued recording, couldnt abort it or anything, all I could do was unplug the box, and of course no surprise... failed recording.
The box hadnt completely frozen though, could browse the EPG, was just hey those programs should have finished recording hours ago.......
meh, caught the SD repeats of the shows, but still annyoing.
The new EPG itself, to be honest, not really fussed, annoying that it takes 2 clicks to view a show from the planner compared to one, but on the other hand the new tv guide search function is great, really love it.

The biggest annoyance with the EPG, it keeps waking up the box, and downloading planner updates.. whiiiirrrr crackle crackle.. damn these Thomson boxes have noisy harddrives (not an unhealthy click of death, just loud random access/seeks).

The update signals are sent on Tuesday (am) and activated Thursday (am).
The dates posted for the activation of the new EPG for Pace and Samsung owners were leeched from Sky's Intranet. However, many people are saying that the rollout is under review so the dates may be delayed a few weeks. Don't take them as gospel.
I still had the old EPG this morning. Pace (will insert model # later).

I'm betting the update comes Thursday (tomorrow AM).. mark my words.
Pace 9F3003 here, no pack in the post but then I only bought the box myself a few weeks ago, so they probably still think I have the Thompson
I will say that they sent me an email so then again, perhaps my postie is slow.
Pace > Samsung > Amstrad, that's the update plan as far as I know. Oh, and any bugs won't be patched until ALL boxes have the EPG.

Mine was done this morning
Seems to be just plain luck whether or not you get the EPG. Could be a problem on Sky's end if they were trying to get it out for all the Pace boxes. Reports of many different versions getting it, but there are still a lot of people without it.
