Arsenal,
Best performance, honestly, Sheffield was it in the cup which I can't even remember the score, old Arsenal 5/6 goals, great attacking play, fantastic interplay between the players, no fear, no indiciveness, no Adebayor, doesn't get better
Worst performance, almost impossible to say, most likely city 3-0 game, should have been 6-0, dropping gallas proved to be the most embarassingly stupid thing Wenger ever did. But again, it could have been the liverpool game had it not been for Arshavin, should have lost that 6-0, should have lost to utd in the CL 8-0 across both legs, got demolished by Chelsea. But the city game was just the low point where almost no one at any stage got a single pass right.
BEst performer, Gallas most likely, solid all year, fell on the sword and turned a pathetic 5 losses in some what 15 games, into a 21 game unbeaten run by speaking out about the problems and forcing the team to do something about it. Simply superb in defence since then and before, wins headers at corners, scores goals(from what I can remember has scored more than the majority of the squad), scores game winning or late drawing incredibly important goals.
Worst performer, equally terrible Song, Diaby, Adebayor ,Denilson and Theo. If i had to choose a single player I'll go with Adebayor as he's older, has played far more, is paid 4 times as much and puts in no effort. The others are crap but at least they try.
Some of you Utd lot are mental, worst performer, Scholes? Nani is maybe right but saying he has ability is completely incorrect. I can't stand it when people say, it takes him 5 weeks to get a good cross, or 1 shot in 100 is great. No, if someone constantly smacks the ball with zero ability they will go all over the place, if that bad shot happens to go somewhere good once in a blue moon, its luck, not ability. Nani is completely and utterly hopeless. you can only consider someone good ,or having abilty if the majority of there work is good and not useless. if you get 6/10 crosses someone good you're probably good, if you get 1/30 crosses somewhere useful, you're crap and got one lucky cross.
I'd also say consistancy is less about being great, but about being NEVER terrible or incredibly rarely. If I had to pick out 4 players for man u who had the most woeful games, Vidic would be up there, with Giggs, Scholes and Carrick who were awful in those fulham/liverpool games, while Rooney still looked good against Liverpool, for Utd best player is Rooney or Ronaldo, hands down. Vidic was the worst player on the pitch against Liverpool and gifted them the goals, he started the poor run with his mistakes, also iirc he's been sent off 3/4 times and should have been more times, like the elbow to the throat recently. you can be consistantly good, great or bad, Vidic has had massive ups and massive downs, which simply doesn't tie in with consistant. I'd say park/fletcher might be your most consistant players, never superb(rarely anyway) but the level they play at has been very consistant.
