Don't know if this has been done yet

Doesn't have to be a football team

But

Newcastle United

Best Performance

A sneaky win against Villa

Worst Performance

I still think the loss to Wigan at the JJB was a sorry state of affairs, followed by the Liverpool demolition

Best Performer

Bassong, that said he's nowhere near as good as he's been made out to be, it's just he's been consistently average in a very poor side

Worst Performer

Nicky Butt, though honarable mention to Collocini

Man Utd

Best Performance: Hard to say because very rarely have we dominated teams for a full 90 mins other than the Chelsea result at home this year 3-0. Toss up between that game and the Champions League semi at The Emirates

Worst Performance: Without a shadow of a doubt the Liverpool game at home. Liverpool played Utd like a tune on the day. It gave them a sense of belief that they could go on and win the league.

Best Performer:Again i'm a bit indecisive on this one as I think Vidic, Carrick, Rio & Rooney are consistently 7 or 8 out of 10 players 99 games out of a 100, that is the foundation of a Championship winning team

Worse Performer: Nani. Purely for his inconsistency. Some weeks he can belt a screamer in and then it takes him another five weeks to pick a decent cross out. For a player with so much ability, he has had more lows than highs that's for sure

Man Utd

Best Performance: Definitely the Chelsea victory for me

Worst Performance: The Fulham defeat, the Liverpool one was bad but the way we came out and the players didn't look like they wanted to fight back was just painful to watch

Best Performer: Probably Vidic, several other are up there but Vidic was the most consistent

Worse Performer: I'm really not sure, I don't think we've had any one person who's been obviously below the others, I'm going to go with Scholes though.

Arsenal,

Best performance, honestly, Sheffield was it in the cup which I can't even remember the score, old Arsenal 5/6 goals, great attacking play, fantastic interplay between the players, no fear, no indiciveness, no Adebayor, doesn't get better :p

Worst performance, almost impossible to say, most likely city 3-0 game, should have been 6-0, dropping gallas proved to be the most embarassingly stupid thing Wenger ever did. But again, it could have been the liverpool game had it not been for Arshavin, should have lost that 6-0, should have lost to utd in the CL 8-0 across both legs, got demolished by Chelsea. But the city game was just the low point where almost no one at any stage got a single pass right.

BEst performer, Gallas most likely, solid all year, fell on the sword and turned a pathetic 5 losses in some what 15 games, into a 21 game unbeaten run by speaking out about the problems and forcing the team to do something about it. Simply superb in defence since then and before, wins headers at corners, scores goals(from what I can remember has scored more than the majority of the squad), scores game winning or late drawing incredibly important goals.

Worst performer, equally terrible Song, Diaby, Adebayor ,Denilson and Theo. If i had to choose a single player I'll go with Adebayor as he's older, has played far more, is paid 4 times as much and puts in no effort. The others are crap but at least they try.

Some of you Utd lot are mental, worst performer, Scholes? Nani is maybe right but saying he has ability is completely incorrect. I can't stand it when people say, it takes him 5 weeks to get a good cross, or 1 shot in 100 is great. No, if someone constantly smacks the ball with zero ability they will go all over the place, if that bad shot happens to go somewhere good once in a blue moon, its luck, not ability. Nani is completely and utterly hopeless. you can only consider someone good ,or having abilty if the majority of there work is good and not useless. if you get 6/10 crosses someone good you're probably good, if you get 1/30 crosses somewhere useful, you're crap and got one lucky cross.

I'd also say consistancy is less about being great, but about being NEVER terrible or incredibly rarely. If I had to pick out 4 players for man u who had the most woeful games, Vidic would be up there, with Giggs, Scholes and Carrick who were awful in those fulham/liverpool games, while Rooney still looked good against Liverpool, for Utd best player is Rooney or Ronaldo, hands down. Vidic was the worst player on the pitch against Liverpool and gifted them the goals, he started the poor run with his mistakes, also iirc he's been sent off 3/4 times and should have been more times, like the elbow to the throat recently. you can be consistantly good, great or bad, Vidic has had massive ups and massive downs, which simply doesn't tie in with consistant. I'd say park/fletcher might be your most consistant players, never superb(rarely anyway) but the level they play at has been very consistant.

Everton

Best Performance, well most enjoyable beating Wigan 4-0. What a disgrace of a side, shouldn't be playing top flight football.

Worst performance, Didnt start the season well and I wasn't happy with ending the Uefa cup run before it got started, but I've got no complaints with the players this season at all. Too often you hear the stars like Gerrard crying because they are out of postion, our players played wherever they were told and got the job done. So I wouldn't be too crtitical of any loss.

Best performer, Cahill. Jagielka runs him close and is our best defender but cahill played most of the season out of position and always got on the with the job and battled hard. I'd be half tempted to play him upfront next year as well.

Worst performer, Fellaini. Getting better each game and I'd only choose him because he was lost in the first half of the season and got booked for fun. I'm not a huge neville fan either. I think his limited play is holding us back.

Liverpool

Best Performance: Beating Real 4-0.

Worst Performance: Losing to Middlesbrough 2-0. Chelsea gave us more of a beating but it wasn't as bad a performance as the defeat to the game raisers. So glad they've all but gone.

Best Performer: Gerrard closely followed by Alonso. Honourable mentions to Yossi, Reina and Kuyt.

Worst Performer: Babel. Dossena and Lucas sucked for long spells of the season but both have done a job recently. Babel sucks so hard he should take up gay porn.

Liverpool

Best Performance: 2-1 Home win vs Utd. Maybe a bit of an odd one but we were without Gerrard and Torres and all the talk prior to the game (and all the predictions on here) were that we were going to get hammered. In the end 2-1 flattered Utd.

Worst Performance: 3-1 Home defeat to Chelsea in the CL. Imo it was our worst performance of the season by far. So many of our steady performers earlier in the season (Aurelio and Arbeloa in particular) made countless mistakes, i don't think Masch and Alonso have seen so little of the ball before thanks to our passing out of the back.

Best Performer: Gerrard; even when he was playing with injuries and not in the best of form he still made valuable contributions with goals or assists and in spells this season he's been unstoppable. Alonso has arguably been more consistent but not as spectacular.

Worst Performer: Babel; so much ability and showed so much promise last season but has been a real let down this season. Some will say he needs a run in the side but that was never an issue last season (and in fact his best performances then were from the bench) and he only has himself to blame for losing his spot in the side after he went to the Olympics against the clubs wishes. Dossena could have won this award but considering it's his first season i'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Newcastle United

Best Performance: First game of the season draw at Old Trafford, thought things were going to turn out so different, major false hope

Worst Performance: Defeat to Sunderland, thats it really

Best Performer

I suppose Bassong, no real shiners though

Worst Performer: Ha, everyone, I'd go for... might be a controversial one, Jonas, fair play to the guy he runs around, but has no skill and no end product, cant get the ball in the box effectively enough

Think i would go for all that tbh, but wouldn't single out Jonas when there are so many more heartless talentless mercenaries on the books.

Best performer: Vidic
Worst: Overall Gibson (for first team regular Scholes)
Best performance: Played maybe our best stuff in the cola cup! But I suppose vs Arsenal (2nd)
Worst: versus Fulham. Train...wreck
Edit: ive decided for worst performer neville deserves it as well.

Man United

Best Performance : Chelsea at home...the most complete game I've seen us play in years against a top team, the score flattered the rent boys...oh yes, before I forget...'Viva John Terry'!

Worst Performance : The defeat to Fulham, I thought tiredness had caught up with us by that point but thankfully that result seemed to steel us for the remainder of the season.

Best Performer : Earlier on in the season I would have said Vidic or Giggsy but now at the end I'd go for Rooney, played a much more defensive role than he'd like but has excelled there. Best individual performance in a match would go to Giggs for taking the Chelsea midfield to school though.

Worst Performer : Nani. Such a frustrating player, bags of pace, great skill, thunderbolt shot, but has gone backwards this year. Tevez can be thankful, because I think he's been rubbish for most of the year. Running around like a headless chicken does not make you a great player, he has been hopeless with the ball at his feet, completely unaware of his teammates and constantly runs up cul-de-sacs. Fergie, don't sign him up. He's not worth that much money.

How dare you! Fellaini is immense!

Exactly. Nolan, R.Taylor, Butt, Duff, Viduka, Ameobi and a few others have all been worse than Jonas this season.

Can't be bothered to do the full thing but player of the season is between Bassong and Enrique (Enrique pushing Rooney off the ball and putting him on his bum was a highlight :p).

Worst player is between Butt and R.Taylor.

Leeds United

Best Performance

There were very good performances throughout the season, all at Elland Road. The most impressive being the 4-0 drubbing of Warnock And Palace in the Carling Cup. Both fielding there strongest sides. We came out on top :)

Worst Performance

Probably the loss against Huddersfield, big games and we lost twice to them :( I can't say the Millwall games as we dominated both so not a bad performance. Of course in the end the games were a travesty.

Best Performer

Three huge players for Leeds, Beckford, Delph and Snodgrass. Beckford's stats speak for them self, 34 goals in 37 games, 27 in the league.
Delph's first season, only 18, took the league by storm and getting linked with Prem teams, I think the media have gone a bit too mad like they do on him, like all young kids (Walcott, Ramsey, Bale etc etc) they still have a lot to learn and develop and Delph has still a lot to learn.
My best performer is Snodgrass, the energy, work rate and skill the guy shows is incredible, he is primarily a striker and has played right wing for the majority of the season (and he is left footed). I'd be absolutely gutted if he left. Still only 21.

Worst Performer

A few, Frazer Richardson or David Prutton. Big players who seem to have got worse.

Brighton :)

Best Performance: Beating Man City in Carling Cup just after they had become the richest club in the world! (Beating Millwall 4-1 comes a close second!)

Worst Performance: Losing to Swindon at home 3-2 after being 2-0 up at half time.

Best performer: Andrew Whing (right back) bled blue and white during our successful relegation battle. Rightfully won player of the season

Worst Performer: too many to mention last season!

How dare you! Fellaini is immense!

Not in the first half of the seaon he wasn't he was there due to the cost. He is the only player to get awarded a sky zero in a game as well :D

He's a lot less clumsy now and seems to have settled in with the english game a bit better.

Newcastle United

Worst Performer: Ha, everyone, I'd go for... might be a controversial one, Jonas, fair play to the guy he runs around, but has no skill and no end product, cant get the ball in the box effectively enough

He's not our worst performer, but I agree, been saying it all season, he just falls over

really, i think butt has been decent, especially the last few games, fabricio has been crap, as someone mentioned to me a few months back he is our white version of bramble!

Yeah I really haven't rated Butt this season, just hasn't been good enough
