Palm Pre

Really annoys me that i'm with Orange and they have no "fancy" phones, I really still like the pre but just ordered a G1 because I dont know when the pre is coming out.

Personally the G1 is great but it does a lot of stuff that I'll probably never use, whereas the videos of the PRE all seem to be showing the general operation and it looks sweet. The pre is also more beautiful than the G1.

Didnt know that the G1 is available on Orange...thought it was a Tmobile exclusive...personally i wouldnt have bothered...if you really wanted a google phone ie Android then i would have picked up the Magic...i have one and its awesome...really nicely built.

No, I meant that I moved from Orange :)

I like the look of the Magic but, I prefer to have a full physical QWERTY keyboard.

Ahh right ok:)...i have the Magic and i have to say the lack of a physical keyboard doesnt really make much of a difference to me..the good thing is that the magic has vibration feedback so when pressing a button on the touchscreen and virtual keyboard u get a little vibration from it.

So O" get teh 2 best smart phones (touch ones) on the market???

WTF are all the other providers doing now - they will loose loads of customers over this.

I have been on Vodafone for 7 years, really happy but am not renewing my contract because i wanted to see what was released this Juse, and now is seems ill be going to O2 for either the Pre or whatever Apple has to offer - way to loose a customer Vodafone

Not a lot of people are impressed with it over in America from what i have been reading...the crackberry forum i usually inhabit...quite a few people there have ditched their BB's for the Pre but have within days gone back to their BB's...it looks nice but like the iphone lacks real substance...a lot of people arent happy with the OS.

Well my contract runs out in October so this could be an option. Although if O2's pricing on the iChoad is anything to go by then you'll have to sign up for at least 12 years at £65 a month and the handset will still cost you £22,000.

Check out the US contract pricing for it, you are not far off.

Starting price is $199 up front, the $69 a month, for 24 months = $1855 is the cheapest its available for on contract, which buys a whole 450 minutes.

Sprint will sell you the device without a contract for $549, but you can still only use it on Sprint,

thread necro :)

it's up on the o2 site(
http://www.o2.co.uk/palmpre) as 16th october now(was saying christmas before), along with the pricing details. free on the £35/month 24months(600mins, 500txts) plan or £45/month(1200minths, 500txts) & £75/month(3000mins, 500txts)18month plans. on the £30/month(75mins, 125txts) & £35/month(600mins, 500txts) 18month plans its £96.89.

I cancelled my orange 18month contract like 10months early during the change in minimum call charge fiasco, got my htc touch hd on orange payg at the moment. keeping an eye on what phones are due out over the coming months and the palm pre is looking interesting(tho not sure about the price plans, reek a bit of the iphone).
