I actually got around to watching all of Chobits over the last few days...

D'you something, I've never watched a series that's ever made me feel so happy with the outcome? I was kinda emotional at the end I was that happy for Chi and Hideki at the end...

Guess I'm a big softy after all :o

Yeah, Chobits is great, amd it's manga is quite nice too.

Chiii?!

Chobits is like most of the Clamp derived stuff, and very enjoyable :) (I seem to have really enjoyed all the clamp series i've seen to date).

I just finished Kanon which had a good ending, and was very enjoyable.
I'm going to try Clamp School Detectives next I think, I've been trying to decide what to watch out of my "new" pile, but the chobits reminder settled it i think ;)

I'm half way through Clannad. So far I'd say Kanon is still better, but there's still a season and a half to go so I won't make a judgement yet. They're pretty similar in general though.

It's interesting though that I think Chobits will eventually go OOP on R1. If you look at it in the TRSI catalogue then it appears to be all old Geneon stock. That would be a pity though. I did pick up the Chobits artbook a couple of months ago which is very nice too.

Currently rewatching Kanon (well trying too as I keep nodding off) and jogging along through School Rumble S2.

You'd probably change your mind once you start to see the second season of Clannad.

Yeah Air, Kanon and Clannad have some similarities especially in the Supernatural/Magic aspect seeing as the visual novel games they are based upon are by the same company, Key.

It also makes you wonder if the next in line for Anime adaptions would be Planetarian: Chiisana Hoshi no Yume and Little Busters!.

Indeed, the second season really gets into the meat of the story i think, leaving the comedy of the school life portion.

Just looked at those two titles you mentioned on wikipedia, i know nothing about them but if they're anything like Air, Kanon and Clannad which i thought were all brilliant in their own right then i hope they get an anime adaptation :). Failing that they always have Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life to carry on after Clannad.

You should play/read Planetarian - it's amazing. It's about 2 hours long, and unlike other graphics novels there's no choices, so you just click your way through it. I finished it in one sitting.

I agree on season 2 not being as comedic as the first season, but it is still a very good series. One of the real wins of the first season is how they managed to build the cast which most people like with out seemingly trying to hard to get people to like them. The balance was a lot better between comedy and drama than it had been in the previous Visual Key / Kyoto Animation projects.

Personally I would like then to do Tomoyo After as she is one of my favourite characters but whether that'll happen I don't know. Although a spinoff series of Magical Girl Kyou would be amusing ;) I have read previously that the general thought was that Planetarian really only had enough plot content for a short series of OVAs instead of a full series.

I suspect that the next project will likely be an adaptation of Little Busters given the promotional pattern being shown.

I'm the same I think, I enjoyed chobits and I also enjoyed tsubasa chronicles (probably others too). I think its something to do with the way they ply the story out.

Try Eureka Seven or even heroic age, I think theyre more emotional :o

A quick heads up, one of the UK retailers is doing the Gurren Lagann DVD set 1 LE version for £25 ;)

thanks for that and its now ordered. Just had to make sure I got the right one as there were 2 options and neither said LE so I just went for the one which saved me the most money (ASIN was B001UI15CI while the cheap one was B001UI15C8) :o

That seems really expensive, even other limited eds aren't that much.
not really when you think it should have a cd etc too according to what I've found out so far. And its a similar price to eureka seven too

Yoko approves of this!
I want  - thats a nendoroid isnt it :)

where did you buy it if you can mention it as I want some (I want zoid genesis ones plus that one) :)

Any Guin Saga fans here?

I only just read that the author died 3 days ago which is such a shame, but at least she has left quite a famous legacy and lived to see it being adapted into an Anime series which started last month.

Now I just wonder how far the Anime will go as the source material is way too much.

Yep, Good Smile Company no. 53 Nendoroid. I've been getting figures, unless they are easily available elsewhere, from benippon.com (note that they charge you before they try to source the item (and refund quickly if they can't ... and I have had that once) and EMS shipping is expensive and you will be ******** for Parcel Force fees. But I've found them very good at sourcing hard to find things, even from the Japanese used market, and their packing of shipments is some of the best I have seen)
