I'm kind of the same. Got no complaints about losing to that side, don't think any 2 midfielders in the world could play against Iniesta and Xavi (although Busquets should get a lot of credit as well)

Tonight anyway :p

But totally agree they were in top form.

I said it to some mates earlier, that it doesn't matter if Barca have a weakened defence... if we can't get through Iniesta and Xavi we're buggered and I'd be more worried about Eto'o upfront.

Kinda came back to bight me huh? :o

My boss had a bet on today for a 3-2 United win, with Eto'o scoring the first and Rooney get a hat trick. Bet he was getting excited when Messi headed it in...

Bit dissapointed, Carrick needs to learn to pass as quite frankly he was shocking. Van der sausage fingers ( sponsored by lurpak ) should have stopped the first goal, but nothing can be done about that now.

Still we won the treble thats more than any other English team this season so we cant complain about that. Will just have to win it next year!

UTD's ordinary midfield was exposed tonight. I didn't expect Barca to play as well as they played tonight with a number of first team players out or just back from injury. A telling stat is that Rio/Vidic passed the ball more than any other utd player, while Xavi/Iniesta and Messi were Barca's busiest players.

To be perfectly honest, you can hardly class the Community Shield or the World Club Cup as a decent trophy.

We did a double this year, not a treble. If we'd lost the premiership I would have gone around saying "you know what, at least we won the carling cup" or if we lost both those "well we're still champions of the world!"

Domestic Double, that's enough for me anyway :)

Not remotely sure thats true, Utd didn't get close to them all night. Anderson was barely moving and never tracked back, fouled from behind, did the general Denilson/Song thing of always chasing the ball rather than getting between the ball and the goal.

Likewise Carrick multiple times didn't make the effort to get back between ball and goal, as soon as Scholes came on Carrick moved further forwards and Scholes started tracking players, he wanted to make it known he was on the pitch so did his usual foul, but closed players far better than anyone else and was in the right places. He's become a fairly good foil for Carrick, while all those games the team was terrible a couple months ago Carrick looked annonymous next to Anderson with neither capable of defending.

Fergie simply got the entire team wrong, 3/4 players who shouldn't have started, and 3/4 players playing the wrong position, you'll never play well like that, ever.

Tevez was utterly hopeless when he came on, and to call Berbatov useless when he did more than anyone else when he came on with 10 mins to go in a completely dead game with no one even trying.

At one point Silvinho was 5 yards deeper than the rest of the back four, Berbatov went in behind, onside, desparate for the pass, tevez completely ignored a simple pass through and gave the ball away, as Tevez did all night, waste of space.

SUre Berbatov missed one headed chance he should have done better with, that doesn't mean he was poor, he put some nice throughballs in, one for Evra, his control was nice, he rarely gave it away, but he got very very little service.

Even when he finally bought Berbatov on, he then went Rooney on the right and Ronaldo on the left, what was he thinking.

Frankly Utd weren't in it from the first goal, barely tried, wrong everything and Barca never really made use of there breaks, they were very laid back, they played like a team with 3 injured players taking it as easy as the game would allow, with another gear there if needed. Never really troubled, far to easy, very very good passing from Barca.

HIlariously, and unsurprisingly, Barca's defence improved without the utterly hopeless Alves being involved, can't stand him, but he's truly a poor player, attacking wise other than the odd freekick, his crossing throughout the champs league has been embarassing, defensively very poor, an utter cheat.

Man Utd got outclassed, outplayed by THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD: MESSI as well as Xavi/Iniesta with a telling contribution from Eto'o. World class team, world class talent with the worlds best player (Messi)
