I'm kind of the same. Got no complaints about losing to that side, don't think any 2 midfielders in the world could play against Iniesta and Xavi (although Busquets should get a lot of credit as well)
Not remotely sure thats true, Utd didn't get close to them all night. Anderson was barely moving and never tracked back, fouled from behind, did the general Denilson/Song thing of always chasing the ball rather than getting between the ball and the goal.
Likewise Carrick multiple times didn't make the effort to get back between ball and goal, as soon as Scholes came on Carrick moved further forwards and Scholes started tracking players, he wanted to make it known he was on the pitch so did his usual foul, but closed players far better than anyone else and was in the right places. He's become a fairly good foil for Carrick, while all those games the team was terrible a couple months ago Carrick looked annonymous next to Anderson with neither capable of defending.
Fergie simply got the entire team wrong, 3/4 players who shouldn't have started, and 3/4 players playing the wrong position, you'll never play well like that, ever.
Tevez was utterly hopeless when he came on, and to call Berbatov useless when he did more than anyone else when he came on with 10 mins to go in a completely dead game with no one even trying.
At one point Silvinho was 5 yards deeper than the rest of the back four, Berbatov went in behind, onside, desparate for the pass, tevez completely ignored a simple pass through and gave the ball away, as Tevez did all night, waste of space.
SUre Berbatov missed one headed chance he should have done better with, that doesn't mean he was poor, he put some nice throughballs in, one for Evra, his control was nice, he rarely gave it away, but he got very very little service.
Even when he finally bought Berbatov on, he then went Rooney on the right and Ronaldo on the left, what was he thinking.
Frankly Utd weren't in it from the first goal, barely tried, wrong everything and Barca never really made use of there breaks, they were very laid back, they played like a team with 3 injured players taking it as easy as the game would allow, with another gear there if needed. Never really troubled, far to easy, very very good passing from Barca.
HIlariously, and unsurprisingly, Barca's defence improved without the utterly hopeless Alves being involved, can't stand him, but he's truly a poor player, attacking wise other than the odd freekick, his crossing throughout the champs league has been embarassing, defensively very poor, an utter cheat.
