Im 39 and still play pc games, friday night is the main time i play games usually on cod 4 and 5 with two friends who are 37 and 42 using skype and getting very drunk ;)

Also i have the MAME arcade installed on my pc for nostalgic gaming for all the games that i grew up with :D

I'm 23, and gaming has been phasing out of my life more and more. Also, I NEVER tell people I play games :P.

Anyway these days I seem to prefer chasing girls and getting drunk. In a way I feel like I need to leave computer games until I'm old and in a wheelchair, then they can have my undivided attention. Plus, they'd be awesome after all that time...

My dad (55) plays C&C Zero Hour twice a day since he retired.

I haven't found a better RTS game to move him on to.
CoH is probably too complicated with all the unit specialisation / cover system and micro.

I'm 33 and am still enjoying playing games in my spare time. On my Christmas list Ive just put games down as i enjoy them so much. You can never be to old to play games.

Another 39 year old gamer who never intends to give up - just intend getting better spec machines as time goes on and games get more demanding. Started on a 16k Spectrum, BBC Micro, an Apple 2C, Amiga etc etc but been PC for many, many years. Looking forward to what the next couple of decades have in store for us gamers. When I look back to what I was playing 20 years back to where we are now the possibilities look really exciting.

i don't see anything wrong with playing games at that age lol... in fact 20 years down the line for me, i reckon it will be the norm!

Im 38 and play most of my none working hours unless im asleep. My father is 72 and whils im visiting this time, im just about to order his new PC as his old one gave up the ghost. We have been playing Computer games since the late 70s and my father shows no signs of stopping now, he playes all sorts of games, hes completed more games than me but thats because hes not into online gaming and has not been sucked into an MMO.

I know an 83 year old guy and he's pretty good in l4d versus mode, dunno where this age limit comes from, if anything you have more spare time later in life and no it's not me :D

I think your only too old for it, if you haven't achieved something in life once you've fully achieved your goals/ambitions you will be completey satisified in what you do in your own free time.

Gaming is a form of entertainment, some people watch movies/tv others play games its the same principle. Everyone want's to escape reality and kill time and gaming is very effective at that.

I'm quite young compared to you lol, but I can see it at your point of view and It's not something you brag about like 'I play Wow for 4 hours a day lol'. All Hobbies cost money, Gaming is a new ERA wait a few decades and it will be the normal thing and people will accept you for who you are.

Main point is Don't be someone else because of other people, be yourself.

The only people that know about it are close family and friends. People at work would be shocked, if I told them i'd been to a lan..... no I just wouldn't. But like they say I go to work for the money....thats it.

I'm 50 and pride myself at being more than able of holding my own in a shooter.
Had a bloke of 62 in my last clan !

Thank ferk for that, thought I was the only one. ;) I (virtually) know of a guy from another forum who plays RPG's...he is 78. That's the oldest I've come across.
I went through a spell where I was becoming a bit embarrassed about my interest in games but I've got over that now.
It's a fact that boys never stop playing with their toys.

I'm rapidly approaching 50, into car and flight sims. Many of those I race/fly with are older, especially the flight simming including one in his 80's :)

I think the people of my generation (mid 30's), all grew up with gaming, so its natural to continue playing it, you get less gamers from the 45 upward generations because they didnt have them in their youth, while in the early 80's onwards, everyone had or wanted a computer of some sort to game on.

Im jaded by a lot of games, not much keeps me interested, but now and again something magical comes along that keeps the fires lit.
