Personally I don't give a FF what people think.

Life is waaay too short to be concerned with other peeps views on your own hobbies.

First wife thought they were a waste of time tho and always on my back over time spent playing games instead of watching TV  .....

i`ve had to cut down a little and spend nights with the mrs in front of the Tv

Yeah I've had a dose of that, some women seem to think that sitting next to them while watching their mind numbing soaps in silence counts as "quality time", if you dare go and play a computer game rather than watch putrid TV you are neglecting them!

WOMEN!

May i also add that your asking a totally bias audience as your on PC Gamer section of a PC forum....

lol.

My parents hate me gaming @ 21, moving out soon though, when I have the money to. My mum's never liked computer games, but then happily goes and sits infront of strictly come ******* dancing.

You're never too old :) I wish my dad played computer games (he's 54, occasionally plays mindsweeper :()

39 here. My first game was also elite on the BBC B. We are basically the first generation to have been exposed to wodely available games our whole lives so were naturally the older gamers. In 20 years time the 40 year olds will me asking whether 60 is too old to be playing!

The way things are developing the future of gaming is going to be a lot more inclusive - big steps made in VR this month for example. It won't be sitting in front of a screen for much longer and only older folk will be able to afford the equipment! Basically game as long as you feel the inclination!

im 38 at the end of the month stil play every night do epic battles on a saturday i love it..a guy i play with is 56..your never to old..dont worry *** people think.. just do *** you enjoy..

There is a guy in my squad on WW2 Online Battleground Europe who is into his 60's. He is damn good too. I'm 32 and love my gaming but don't really have the talent for them i'm afraid.

In thirty years time the main selling point of an old folks home will be whether or not it has decent internet access ;)

right on the money with this one ;) hehe by then if it doesnt have 100mb connection im moving to a retirement home in japan to play BF3... cos it might just be out by then ;)

The only thing that worries me is if i have a heart attack and im found slumpted over my wheel playing GTR ! I bet the ambulance crew would have a great laugh :D

Never too old to game...

My old man is only just getting into them at 57! I've been weaning him in on Medal of Honor and Call of Duty over the last couple of months. Just the other week we hooked up our PCs and spent a few hours playing co-op on SWAT 4 :D

Hi all, I've allways been into PC games, I'm actually 39 tommorrow(wed) & still enjoy a game of BF2, rise of nations,X3, flight simulator 2004 amongst a few others, I allways cringe a bit when people ask me what I'm into because it's mostly PC games ( my only other interests are going to the gym but gaming is my main ) & I dont like telling people TBH.
Is there anyone on here who is my sort of age or am I the oldest one on here and need to grow up.

Dal the only thing thats to old is your sytem in sig:)
I think its time for a overhaul;)

Just turned 38 and am spending more time and money on my pc than i ever did and loving it.:D
I think the only thing im getting wise to now is waiting to see what the reaction is from other people over new games rather than just buying, same with hardware to i suppose.

Turned 40 and have been playing games pretty much as long as I can remember (Apple IIe, BBC & ZX81) with the obligatory break in the late teens early 20's for lots of wine, women and song :D

In my old MMO guild the highest dps rogue was a guy in his 60's, used to lay waste to the young pretenders :p

Unfortunately there is some negative stereotypes the general public associates with gamers along the lines of 'saddo with no life' etc.

In the end do what you enjoy, it is your life, spend it as you see fit :)

My dad is 58 and he games more than I do, I'm 23. He started with Delta Force 2, went through all of those games, no matter how dire the latter ones were. Then moved to COD4 and now plays COD5.

He is better than I am, you are never too old to play games. Main issue is the amount of time he spends playing them!

mid-life crisis? yeah you are too old, should start lawn bowling and pimm's.

kidding :) am 37 and games is our generation since we were the first ones to grow up with them, we didn't have woodstock, hendrixx, etc... but we had pong and pac man

so you're not old, you are actually a pioneer :) merry xmas and lot's of gaming goodness

I think some people simply switch straight away on to the "geek" or ""nerd" image in their minds when someone tells them they're in to games. Though it seems that peoples views are steadily changing. Some folk who in the past labelled / imagined me frantically button bashing playing nothing but arcade games, probably never knew that a fps/rpg existed at the time - now seem to appreciate that there are various areas or types of gaming. One person I seem to remember looked surprised when I showed them some footage of F.E.A.R, lol.

I'm 40 and I still enjoy playing FPS's. There's a load of clans out there that are for us old folk. Get together with gamers of the same age and then you won't feel old when playing. Plus you can swap old war stories :)

I'm 52, and I'm not intending to stop playing till I'm too feeble to hold a mouse (in about 2 years time).

Started home gaming with my old Commodore 64 in 1983 (at the age of 28), but even way before that I used to sink cash into arcade Donkey Kongs.

I'm completely mad, but as long as I'm happy, even if Wifey's not.
