Good txt message tones

Cant stand using ringtones anymore started to do my head in. Use to use the one from the film Crank, well good. :p

Also use to have 'Our UAV is online!' as my message tone which is a bit geeky.

Again I always know its my phone when it goes off, if I should leave it on the side when im at my parents, my Dad always goes "Your phones shouting again"

I have the old old sound from msn messenger when someone typed something to you. Probably from 2001-2004 at a guess. I can't really describe it. It's different from the newer versions. They have changed them about 3 times. I have long turned all msn sounds off anyway.

Would be nice to get a clean sample (i.e. not from the tv) of Maurice Moss going "Message for meeeee".

We have just had the 24 tone installed on the Cisco phones at work. It's probably the gayest thing ever on office or mobile phones. People need to realise they aren't Jack Bauer or his bumchum Chloe.

I wouldn't mind some nice generic ringtones. After all, it's a phone, not a gayer proclamation device™

Saying that, my friend works as a security guard at a busy shopping centre and has that guy from the goonies saying "Hey you guuuuuuuuuuuuuuyyyys!" as a message tone. That is hilarious. SOme of the looks he gets of the old people are classic.
 
My Samsung D900 doesn't let me change from the default tones :( but I can't abide long text ringtones anyway. If you've got something short and to the point, and you forgot to put your phone on silent, you don't have to go rummaging around to shut it up and it's not long enough for anyone to pinpoint you as the owner, lol.
But long text ringtones, *shudders* plus then you have to press something just to shut it up when you're busy and haven't got time to read the thing. Mostly when you haven't got time to press a button either.

But for a ringtone, how about some of the songs from Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog? The Bad Horse ones are especially good for it..
 
I cut the part out of the song The Killers - All These Things That I've Done where he sings 'I got soul but I'm not a soldier' as my ringtone (love the song and that bit)

Reading this thread I really am keen for the MGS spotted or the worms incoming samples. Can anyone point me to the correct place to get them please? I currently just use a generic nokia sound (burn him at the stake I hear you all cry)

edit: ok found them but think the worms incoming sample is the best

Just made a message tone out of the clip on madagascar 2 when mort gets attacked by the shark, raises a grin every time it goes off :)
