First online game you played and best

First: One of the MUD incarnations.

Best: Not sure, but most fun was probably Air Attack.

Can't remember the first I played online, but the first I got into was Medal of Honour Allied Assault.

MOH:AA pre hax, happy days them.

It went all hax? That sucks, I must have stopped playing before than happened, don't remember seeing any haxxing on the servers I played on. I actually reinstalled Spearhead recently, but nearly all the servers with players seemed to be freeze-tag, and on the server that I did try I got bored of getting 'nade and mustard gas spammed a short way from the spawn. :(

think chu chu rocket on dreamcast was first for me and i thought it was rubbish like the op. Best has to be Command and Conquer

true online, would be to my disgrace WoW -.- Hay I was trying it out, however that failed so I landed up with freelancer.

best online game is Left 4 Dead

Quake - great game, great fun and great online community.

I played the whole series online and stopped playing online gaming after q3.

I have some good memories of C&C Renegade, wonder if there are many people still playing online. Used to love having the air vehicles on the city map :D

Such a great game, but most people hated it. Wasted so many hours. i have never got into a game the same way as renegade. Always a sniper, apart from when we club together on team speak and do some small group rushes, apc + 4 people on team speak. Often meant a dead power plant.

First was Quake II

Best was Quake III.

Damn stupid game, I dropped out of uni for it :p

First: Half-Life, the map was 'Boot Camp' and i can remember the exact spot i first spawned in. Amazing experience. Must have been just months after it was released.

Best: Its a tie. CS when it was in beta was excellent and we played it almost daily for must have been 2 years :)
Also, Star Wars Galaxies. This game probably gave me my best gaming moments ever. Playing as a Bounty Hunter, myself and my brother launching perfectly planned coordinated attacks on Jedi. It will never be beaten as a gaming experience to be honest.

First - QuakeWorld (28.8 Modem)
Best - QuakeWorld

GRID comes close and might win if it wasn't for rampant cheating (Hint to Codemasters - PATCH!)

First: Medievia, an american MUD played over Telnet.

Best: RTCW (Return to Castle Wolfenstein), still the best online FPS.

Honourable mentions, Star Wars Galaxies, World Of Warcraft. Both massive time sinks, been in WoW since US beta over 4 years ago and I'm still hooked!

Flame tank rushes were great. If the team wasn't prepared then 10 or so flame tanks just couldn't be stopped till they wiped out half the base haha :D

The first online game I played online was Duke 3D. Spent most of the time going "Look mum that's a real person!"

The best has to be TFC. It was the first online game I really got stuck into, and good lord, did it impress me. Met some good pals through that, CS too.

Although WoW is a close second. It was the first game in years to really impress me like games used to do when I was a kid. The scale was amazing! I used to love the fact that although there were thousands of others playing on the same server, the place was so big that you could go to some random area and be totally on your own. There's something kinda cool about that. :)
