I'm calling it now. MGS4 on 360. E3 Microsoft Press Conference.

And what about the PS3?

You know, the family of consoles which the MGS series has called it's home for the last few years?

Best take full advantage of the next xbox instead of compressing or putting it on 2-3 discs to make it work for the 360. By the time MGS5 is out, the next xbox will also probably be out or close to coming out. It could still come out on the PS3 in 2-3 years.

If I rememer correctly...

MGS3 2005
MGS4 announced in 2006

MGS4 2008
MGS5 announced in 2009?

So that mean MGS5 will probably be out in 2011 or 2012.

If it's episodic, each episode or two on a DVD, and/or fully installed to HDD on the 360, then I see no real issue with the 360 being a valid platform..?

Most of the disk space is wasted on 1080p clips for the intro (Which are mostly irrelevant to the game, they aren't cutscenes, it's hard to explain unless you've played the game) and totally uncompressed sound.

They could downscale those to 720p and use lossless sound compression and the game would be a hell of a lot smaller, probably 2 disks or maybe even one.

i shudder to think how long it would take to remove all the sony and apple products from the game and its extremely long (yet awesome) cutscenes.

also how on earth would 360 users control the mk.II

I'm pretty sure MS would just have to take it on the chin with some aspects of the game, its better to have a Sixaxis in game over not having the game on 360

Just replace it with an Orange light.

Actually YLOD is the direct competitor :D
