Who has/had the worst job here?

On conveyor belt line putting cherries on cakes.
Sat at the end of a screenprint dryer, taking posters off of the belt and placing in a large container, constantly getting painful static charges :(

Worked in a salad factory that make salads for M&S. standing there putting stuff i a bowl for 8h :o

You wouldn't wanna eat them :p

Don't wanna annoy people but jeez get some qualifications and you won't have to work in places like that

So, you've never had a crappy job in your life. Not even before you got your qualifications? For instance, I worked in the local Mortuary to pay my beer fund whilst at University.

My worst job lasted about a week from leaving uni to finding a job in a bank.

I worked in a factory that made various pies, the conditions were rank, the job was tedious and the pay was shocking.

They made pork pies for tescos and harrods. The only difference was the pastry on the top and the price tag being 70 quid different lol

Kitchen porter at 16, working midday-close in stifling heat over the summer, not allowed to open the door as the customers complained the breeze was too cold and I got paid a pittance (Y).

I feel your pain. For about 3 years I did part time work in a kitchen, chopping veg, making starters etc. In the summer it was absolutely horrendous.

Primark Leeds HORRIBLE

Oh and by the looks of it my new job, seeing as my thread was described in the OP:D

Do you know a girl called Fay who works/used to work there?

answering phones for a large taxi company (not a call centre). lasted a week, worst ever time of my life. They paid you at the end of the week with a cheque

I don't think I have had the worst, but I'll throw in a couple.

1. A few years back now we had the summer that was really hot. During this time I was working in a porta-cabin with chain smokers with barely working air-con. Next to the office was where the skips were stored, I can't describe the smell of various stuff rotting as it baked in the sun. I also got electrocuted there, not the best time.

2. Working for the council. I had to do filing which in itself isn't a problem. The issue was they expected me to do it in a basement pushing 40º+ with no ventilation. That's the only job I walked out of.

pin boning/de-heading fish for a summer... great, that said the banter between the workers was great.

I was only 17, and started at five in the morning previous to that job i was unaware that people got up at that time, never mind were at work singing and shouting at each other... ah those were the days

Pinney's by any chance? I worked there one summer, jesus the smell of fish never went away. It was a good laugh though most of the time so it flew by most of the time. Worked in the box factory in Lockerbie too in my holidays from uni, three years on-and-off tearing strips of cardboard off big sheets. Brilliant job because of the workers but I looked like a self-harmer from all the papercuts on my wrists :)

Worked in a tablet factory over a summer which consisted of wearing a boiler suit in 40+ degree machine rooms and the unbearable smell of chemicals which never washed out of your skin :( Then there was the really nasty stuff that you had to wear a breathing mask for which was even better... Plus the shifts were split so you either started at 5am or finished at 10pm.

when i worked on checkout 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. not hard on the body but mentally tedious.

hello
would you like help packing
how are you today
do you have your nectar card
are you collecting back to school vouchers
have a good day/afternoon/evening/night

thank goodness i got out of that!

although in comparison to some of the jobs in here? i wouldn't do a factory job, i couldn't, i'd kill myself.
