As the sequel to the acclaimed racer of 2007, DiRT 2 is set to take off-road racing games to a new level, with benchmark tech, thrilling new race types, big event atmosphere, stunning locations, a new breed of off-roading heroes and a peerless line-up of super-charged speed machines.

Promising a thrilling race experience and an extreme sports attitude that borrows from snowboarding and skateboarding culture, DiRT 2 will take players on a World Tour to diverse and challenging real-world environments to compete in contemporary off-road events. Specifically selected to deliver aggressive and fast paced racing, DiRT 2’s garage will house a best-in-class collection of officially licensed rally cars and off-road vehicles; covering seven vehicle classes and players will be given the keys to powerful machines right from the off.

DiRT 2 will come complete with full online functionality that will be core to the overall experience, with head-to-head competitive online play and new social features to engage the racing community. Prepare for mud, gravel, dust and dirt too in DiRT 2.

To be powered by the third generation of the EGO™ Engine’s award-winning racing game technology, Colin McRae: DiRT 2 will benefit from tuned-up car-handling physics system and new damage engine effects. It will also showcase a spectacular new level of visual fidelity, with cars and tracks twice as detailed as those seen in Race Driver: GRID.

In Colin McRae: DiRT 2 the opening drive is the Group N Subaru; essentially making the ultimate car from the original game the starting point in the sequel and the rides just get even more impressive.

the game is shaping up pretty well by the look of it, i didnt realise it was using the updated GRID engine until recently, but that's promising news :)

not sure how to embed the video hmpf :/

Yes! Cant wait for this.

Altho its now Ken Block/Travis Pastrana DiRT....

I thought Rally games were finished when Colin left us, but hopefully Codemaster will do him proud.

this is what im looking forward to more than any game this year !

thats comng from a cod nut aswell :p

playing through 1st 1 this week and loving it.

What's wrong with GFWL? I've used it on a few games and it's not that unbearable. Any bugs it's had have been fixed as far as i'm aware. The only thing that worries me about this game is that it could be a port and the PC version not optimised properly, though knowing codemasters they should still do it pretty well. Grid runs very nicely on my system.

Really looking forward to this, huge fan of the first, even if it was a bit too arcade than I would have liked. Now a remake of RBR, that'd be exciting...

GRID and DIRT are two of the best driving games I ve ever come across

DIRT was a litte "day out at seaside kinda thing" arcade is the word but still it *is* a awsome game, GRID is alittle more serous

*edit* colin got killed in a helicopter crash :(

If its anything like the first DiRT, its going to require some fairly recent graphics hardware.

Its the reason I missed it first time round, my 7800GT just couldnt cope.

For some reason my dirt still stutters when racing, i'm led to believe it's an x-fi thing.

I didn't think this was out until 25th sep?
