I don't know if this sort of stuff has been posted before but I thought it might make a good thread.

I wouldn't mind as much if graffiti artists used these in big cities instead of paint

It wouldn't be graffiti then

Graffiti - means to draw or scratch on a wall

which also means the threads titled wrong lol

cool shapes how do they do this again, something to do with slow camera snappers?

As a culture evolves so does the language it uses, words come to encompass larger meanings, this is simply a new form of Graffiti.

It's done by using a camera with a long explosure and differant light sources like glow sticks and torches, my friend has done quite few for his Art A-Level. He mainly works with objects such as cars/post boxes/bins etc.

I wouldn't mind having ago at this sounds like fun.

Very true I guess I just always see graffiti as drawings and stuff.

Strange question but can you name another word thats encompasses a larger meaning?

Not off the top of my head, I was being facetious more than anything. I think its true though that simply because a word has a specific meaning it can't apply to something else.

They are rather awesome - might have a bit of an experiment with my camera and some lights this evening! The shot with the cartoon animal peaking round the corner must have taken a few attempts to judge the actual motion of the lights to make that shape!

I'd imagine neon lights or super-bright LED work best.

If they use a slow camera speed would there not be a big blur from the person running around with the light?

could do some of them in photoshop within a few seconds!

seems pointless unless they look really good, simple ones are just a waste of time imo
