The FilePlanet beta test for Huxley: The Dystopia is only available to players in North America.

For fileplanet subscribers only too. Meaning you have to pay to get a fileplanet subscription even if you managed to use a US proxy server to access fileplanet.

This game has been in production for God knows how long. And I still want it, the concept is amazing and could be a great game if made well.

Yeah while the game may pretty much just be Unreal Tournament 3 under a new skin, it's the whole MMO aspect that is still extremely appealing about it.

I don't see the attraction - from what I can see the only mmo aspect is 3D game lobbies, a-la guild wars. Other than that it just seems to be a re-skinned battlefield.

I am worried that this is the case, but still want to give it a go.

If it turns out to just be a 3D lobby + UT3 game play modes with different skins then there is no way I'd pay a monthly sub for it.

If it is more of a MMOFPS akin to Planetside then W00T!

I'm still praying for the day a decent successor to Planetside comes out. Some of my favourite ever MMO memories are from that game. Epic battles and really satisfying when your clan and others organised an assault across an entire land mass, steamrollering the opposition.

Same here, high hopes for Huxley.

It's not an MMO.
32 people per server, with a lobby, persistant stats though but that's just like battlefield heroes.

32 people, is not an mmo at all, even battlefield has more than that.

So all of you thinking this is the next planetside, you're deadly mistaken :(

Well bugger that then. :( That's just Battlefield with a online lobby.

according to wikipedia xbox will have 60v60 maximum, where as the PC version will have 100 v 100. Thats much bigger then the battlefield games.

Add to that the special abilities for each character, and crafting weapons and it becomes more like an mmorpg than any battlefield game.

I guess seeing as it it still in Beta stage at the moment, hopefully the player count will increase a lot by time the final release will be out.

Looks like this game will NOT be cross-platform compatible between Xbox 360 and PC players which is such a shame. But then it is very understandable. Still, hopefully a lot more thigns can change once it is out. At least this will be subscription-free and will rely on micro-transations.
