New UFC Game by THQ

I'm enjoying this game, but I need a few hints and tips from you lot, please.

Firstly, I chose Muay Thai but my fighter can't do high kicks, why not?
Secondly, I have an (extremely un)impressive 8-6-0 fight record. I haven't been able to submit anyone yet, my BJJ skills suck. I do the BJJ training but can't complete many of the tasks because I don't actually know what position I need to be in to complete some of them. Is there any guide for the BJJ moves and positions? (the tutorial isn't particularly great).
Finally, how do you get into the full mount position? I only seem to get half mount and side control.

1. I think its unlocked when you become level 2 Muay Thai from training camps.
2. Have you tried watching the 'learn' section before starting the tasks?
3. Once in half guard or side control do a major transition to slip into mount down. Major transition once again to posture up and gain mount offence.

I take it that you can change the difficulty at any time when playing in career mode, i.e if you start in beginner mode it lets you move to a higher level ?
or is the difficulty setting only for exhibition etc ?

Flash KO's are really killing this for me now, ive lost 8 times in a row online to them, every time i was at near full health with them at near no health, dominating them all the way through, i really hope they put a option in to turn them off.

So you dont want a true-to-life representation of the sport!?!?!?
Flash KO's do happen (see Matt Serra vs GSP and Rashad Evans vs Chuck Liddell for examples) so if you've lost 8 in a row I'd suggest not going so gung-ho yourself and therefore leaving your chin out there!! ;)

This ;)

CroCop VS Gonzales anyone? :D

About the sticking my chin out, im using block and have even been flash KO'd while blocking.

What?! Now i've not played online due to the horrible lag but getting Flash KO'd through your block surely isn't possible? I can understand it when your rocked and the screen is grey but surely not from a Flash KO.

There is one solution to your problems.. take the fight to the ground :)

I dont think you can get flash KO'd while blocking. I know you can while it's greyed out though. But thats obvious!
Trixter are you on PSN fancy some games?

sorry, i've read through this whole thing but i'm still left wondering the best course of action for submissions.

Rotating the R analogue is fine enough, but how fast do you do this?

Same with the button bashing; how fast should you do this also? (i'm aware R analogue is for more skill while button bashing is for power)

Really enjoying this game. I was 8-6-0 and after a bit of reading about training and fighting, I think I'm not 15-7-0. My last defeat was by Matt Hughes for the title. He kept taking it to the ground, I tried to keep it standing up and using my kicks, but he smashed me with a nasty left hook in the 2nd round. Flat on my back, ouch! Getting ready now for the rematch :).

As fast as possible?

Just had my two first online matches.

Both laggy as hell! LHW i was Anderson Silva as the boths guys i faught chose Machida. They both were head kick spammers and i just took them down and GNP'd from mount for the win in Round 1.

Playing the game online is all about having a ground game because anybody can throw punches and hope on that flash KO. And I second the rotating of the right analog for submission attempts/escapes.
I've faced some guys online that have an UNBELIEVABLE ground game, its ridiculous.. and I thought I was good on the ground - no!!
I've had a majority of wins through submissions using mostly Mir, Florian, Rua, and or Sanchez...
Many guys will run out and start throwing those big punches and deplete their stamina - i take them down - submit via armbar or kamora.

I enjoy choosing Serra online.

No one expects him to be any good and because he's got a short reach most people don't choose him. I just take people to the ground and pound them out :)

I can't do the groundgame in career mode, though, despite having all ground stats at 60+

meh...

Just completed a career mode. I honestly can't be bothered with the sparring and the tasks, honestly, all i want to do is fight so i end up skipping all the added stuff. Managed to hammer through a career mode in no time at all. I feel quite empty about the game to be fair. I thought career mode would be better.... suppose i'll just hack at online play.

Oh question though... how do you get into the hall of fame?

I got into it twice just by being undefeated. I think you need to have over 100,000 cred, but you should have that anyway if your undefeated.

Online really does my nut in, and ive only played 5 games!!

My first two fights I won by TKO (g+p) and a submission (kimura)

my next 3 fights I won by two subs and my latest against lvl 39 with a ground and pound and they all quit... makes you wonder what the point is really
