Nice tanks guys, keep them coming! I have since heard that zebra danios like the cooler water temperatures (no more than 22 c) so I think I will give them a miss as this is not compatible with other species.

Danios are a PITA, they spend the whole time zipping up and back along the middle and top of the tank.

They drive me mad! Never have them in any of my tanks! Perhaps look at some form of tetra instead?

I don't feed them. And no I don't have CO2 addition.

You should look at getting something like Tropica Plant Nutrition+ to feed the plants, Some Liquid carbon from the likes of Seachem, or maybe a CO2 unit. What size tank do you have, and what is the wattage of your lights?

I have 2 x 15w lights. The tank is 115 litres; length 58 cm,width 38 cm and height 54 cm.

So you've got about 1wpg (watt per U.S gallon) that would be low/medium amount of light. What type of plants do you have? when you bought them you should've got a little card with them it'll tell you what the requirements the plant needs (with regards to PH level, temp & lighting) you'll struggle to keep plants that need a lot of lighting in a tank with low lighting levels.

Heres the thread I did about my tank (page 2 for up to date pics.). At the moment my lighting isn't much better than yours so I'm looking at upgrading the lighting from 36W T8 lighting to something like 96W T5 lighting and getting a pressurised CO2 system.

I have purchased some nutrients for the plants and will observe if this has any affect on their will being. The tank itself is looking really good now although I may consider upping the wattage of the lights. The good news is the plants are starting to root now, its just that their leaves are transparent / brown.

Thats a female Australian Red claw mate. The males have the blood red on the outside of their claws while the females dont. She may turn totally blue as well like my female.

I should be getting my fish tank in the next few weeks, not the biggest one, only about 200 liters one. But first i need to paint the wall there the tank is going to be standing against.

IF you haven't already I recommend having a look at the following websites, www.fishforums.net & www.ukaps.org ukaps is a site dedicated to planted tanks and will give you tons of info if you're looking to get into setting your tank up as a planted tank.

Good luck :)

I love fish tanks, It's a shame my dad stopped having one when we moved house. Tropical fish are brilliant, shame that both Platties and Guppies breed so much! I found that the Neons lasted forever though!
