To me the main reason the McLaren is such a dog is that they just dont have a set of drivers that have the ability to help develop the car anywhere near where they need to be. The last one that could do that was Alonso and Im afraid Hamilton/Kova dont have the tools/experience to do the same yet...

KERs just is the cherry on an awful cake...

Who ever gets in front of Trulli in qualifying or off the line will be contenders to win the race - I fully expect him to have poor race pace as usual...

I don't think that's the case at all. That car is like the honda car. It is so rubbish it just can't be developed. just need throwing in the bin. Also remember there is no testing so the ability of a driver to help develop a car is extremely limited these days.

But to get it to that stage required driver imput at some point? To get it to the start of the season as it was cant be wholly an engineering issue, I just think the feedback they got through initial development wasnt of the quality needed to make a decent car...

I know testing is much more limited this year - but that affects all the teams not just McLaren...

Outside the top 15 time, not the time for pole. You'll notice that the timings shown towards the end of the session display how far up or down drivers sector times are from the top 15, not pole.
