Will You Buy Windows 7???

Defenitely.

Will pre-order as soon it becomes available from OcUK :)

The service with the Vista pre-orders was outstanding.

I'll be buying, might even be the first OS i purchase Retail instead of OEM

I would love to but think it would be more than I could afford so will have to stick with OEM. Although I can purchase a retail Upgrade to upgrade my OEM Vista cant I? Although upgrades were not available on launch last time.

I've currently got 5 systems running Vista (Home Premium). Of those, dependent on price, I may upgrade 3 to Windows 7.

But whether I do so or not really does depend on how much it costs as Vista is running fine on those systems at the moment.

I'll probably be replacing my main PC soon, so will likely end up with a copy of win 7 for it.

Yes. I got a retail version of vista for this very reason. I will be getting the upgrade version for cheap.

And if your thinking about windows7 I would look at 2nd hand copies of vista retail and they can be picked up for £40~ and then probably £80~ for the upgrade. Probably work out the same price as an oem copy of windows7 on release.

Absolutely, There are so many changes that have happened behind the scenes that Win7 is very much worth it.

I will only upgrade when I replace my motherboard,I have OEM versions of Vista on two PCs worknig fine and Win7 RC on the other,to be honest nothing wrong with Win7 but then nothing wrong with my Vista systems either.

I'm really looking forward to Win8 more then Win7 since to me its not a major upgrade over Vista.

Sooner 7 is out sooner Win8 will be around the corner(its the OS I really want ) :).

There is a very big chance that I will be buying the retail version when it is out. It would be a nice bonus if Microsoft was to offer a 2 user license with the retail copies, then I definitely will be buying.

A 2 user license will make a lot of sense, nearly everyone I know has at least 1 laptop aswell as their PC.

How can you look forward to something that's not even been announced, that you surely have no idea of what the features might be? :p
As long as Win8 doesn't turn into a subscription based cloud computing thing - I prefer having things run from my own computer here where I can see it!

I'll be building a new PC sometime this year (said that for the last two years) and would be upgrading from XP. With the New PC having more Memeory 4-6GB and a DX10 card it would be a reasonable time to change the OS.

I was never wowed with Vista and never saw it more than a sort of Millenium Version.

Just a thought really, having been playing with the Windows 7 Release, its quite good though, very good infact...

My problem is im only looking for 2 main things/features from the new operating system, 2 which I consider very basic and very important - Blu Ray Support and FreeSat support, and these are 2 features, from which Im aware arnt going to be present in the new OS release, and 2 features im looking to make a significant use of.

Im one of those who didnt upgrade to Vista because it didnt include WinFS, though im tempted with the new OS but with these 2 "massive" ommissions, is the new os worth it??

Windows would never support blu-ray playing out of the box, same way it will never really support DVD playing out of the box, the licencing for the decoders and the lawsuits from people who DO sell decoders would be too much.

Not that optical media has much of a future anyway. I've managed without an optical drive for ages now, and I don't see that changing.

Think Win7 would be a leetle bit slow running on 6MB RAM ;)
