Starship troopers

It's one of the cheesiest films I've ever seen :p I've not seen it the whole way through... too much cheese :p

ahha

I love the bit at the end....when someone is saying on the lines of

"its all thanks to one person...1 person who changed the course of the war forever"....the camera is lookin at rico

"all thanks to Zim....a drill instructor from XYZ".

that made me lol.

I quite like the film, but what I dont understand is that they said that they found where to shoots the bugs to kill them immediately (Nervous system area or something) yet none of the troopers seem to know this.

Puzzling

They would still have to hit the target, not easy when they jump about something silly + there's millions of the suckers

Fantastic film!

Lots of pointless death and destruction, immensley cheesy and lots of boobs and babes (well two anyway)

It does what it says on the box, if you watch it and dont expect anything serious you will love it. If you try to read into it too much you will more than likely hate it.

I still watch it every so often, its great for chessy, laugh out loud fun

I used to love this movie :)
I haven't seen it in years though and even back then I found it hilarious!!

Sums it up perfectly.

I loved the gore effects.

Carmen ?
*In grunting pain voice* - CAARRRRRRRRRRRRRMEN !!!!!

Hate to tell you buddy, the word is she's dead.

Love the film, just pure awesomness on a disc, and the Blu-ray is reference material and my demo disc of choice for tvs and blu-ray players. It looks fabulous for it's age, especillay when the ships blow apart if you look closely !

Actually I'd say it's one of those films in which the more you read into it, the more you get out of it.

I agree... the people who dont get the underlying themes and satirical aspect of it, and then say they hate it, are just plain morons. :D:p

I reckon theres two kinds of people that love this movie....
the ones that just love the cheese and guns and boobs and aliens,
then the ones who love ALL that, PLUS the other more subtle themes and satires. I love this movie on so many levels.
Also for an equally epic movie... see: Flash Gordon.

The first movie was good because Paul Verhoeven directed it, great sci-fi comedy director, also directed Robocop and Total Recall.
I remember seeing parts of the second movie and it looked like such an amateur movie. Its a real shame they messed up the second one, but at the end of the day they should never of made a sequel. Ahwell the original will always be in my collection, awesome movie.

Starship Troopers is a good film and a lot more subtle than many people give it credit for, I'm not suggesting Paul Verhoeven has made many cinematic masterpieces (Showgirls I'm looking at you) and this one may even be largely accidental but it is better than many science fiction films before and since.

Got the first one on dvd its great, but I havnt even seen the 2nd or 3rd. I hear theyre terrible though.

I have all three in the box set.

1 - good fun and worth watching.
2 - terrible, avoid.
3 - lower side of average and still has that tongue in cheek about it.
