How long do you keep them for?

Just been told by my girlfriend that underwear should be replaced every 6 month!? :eek:

Is this true? How long do you usually keep yours? I'm just curious.

As long as you are washing them regularly with washing powder (or whatever), I can't see why they would 'deteriorate' over time, I guess they do get slightly thinner over time but that's a good thing - they get more comfortable

just recently got rid of a pair that must have been hanging around for 10yrs....were falling to pieces though. they just seem to last for ages, now socks are a different matter i buy about 10 pairs a month where do they go??

Reminds me of Terry Pratchetts colour of magic programme on sky one a few years back. There was a sock goblin or something that stole one of your socks.

And me! I have this weird irrational phobia thing about underwear needing to match incase I ever have an accident and they have to cut my clothes off in the hospital.

I have this vision of me dying because all the doctors and nurses are too busy laughing at my black pants and white bra - which I know wouldnt happen, but still....

Anyway, I chuck them out when the elastic gives up, or they get a hole in them somewhere.

Every 6 months would a) cost a fortune and b) result in a lot of nearly brand new underwear being chucked in the bin.

I think the newest "batch" of underwear that i have is around this length of time old, and it still looks brand new :confused:
