Terminator salvation first reviews (OMG SPOILERS)

he gets it spot on, what a worthless film this was. absolute disappointment, i enjoyed the end of T3 but this just had nothing apart from anton yelchins Kyle reese who freakily looked like the original. Absolute shame, it was doomed the minute they decided the Charlie's Angels director was making this film, not sure how they thought that was a good idea...

I saw this last night and to be honest i was disapointed in it. I am huge fan of the Terminator series and this was just poor money making sequel.

For me there was just not enough cold blooded Terminator action, hunting and killing. Plus not enough good links with the previous movies. It's a shame as it has ruined the best movie series ever, should have left it alone at 2!

And by the looks of the ending they are lining up more to rip the bottom out of it :(

The fifth film is already in pre-production I think, with a sixth also lined up aswell.

Watched this a couple of nights ago, wasn't really that impressed - it just didn't seem to get going or speed up at any point, it just went really slow in second gear till the end.

There were also so many points that didn't really fit:

USB sockets on bikes - wouldn't the machines realise that was how humans could hack in?
Keypads for SkyNet doors - didn't they use shortwave radio to communicate?
How did they know who Kyle Reese was, and how important he was?

I thought it was pretty mediocre, and it clearly left itself open to a sequel.

Rich

It wasn't very good imo.

I cringed when Bale said 'i'll be back'.
The CGI Arnie sucked.
No way would that guy have got back up after being punched in the heart like that.
So many other things that just made it a bit crap.

Went to see this on Wednesday.

I generally like to enjoy films for what they are, rather than picking holes in everything, and in that respect I thought this was actually pretty damn good. :)

The shot at the beginning of Christian Bale getting in the helicopter, taking off then crashing was brilliantly done. :D

in other words you like terrible films amirite

Maybe I'm alone, but it also annoys the hell out of me that the machines, made by other machines, use English on, well, anything.... control panels, the terminator's own in-built HUD thingy... To be fair, this is present in all the Terminator movies... but it still bugs the hell out of me :o

After seeing the movie yesturday, I thought like everyone else that the it never really seemed to be going anywhere, no objective was set out, no character development so we couldnt bond with any of the characters and a lot of stuff just didn't make sense.

I thought the one good point was Sam Worthington's character Marcus Wright, I thought he totally stole the show and carried it himself, if James Cameron had not ofreccomend him to McG at the last minute then I think the movie would be in big trouble. In my opinion Christian Bale totally blew it by his standards, he overacted in basically every scene I can remember.

The ending when they killed Marcus Wright for John Connor did not make sense, McG did a great job with building up this character but then killed him off for Connor? From which most of us did not feel any attachment to in this movie. I really do think he could have saved the movie if they killed off Connor and kept Marcus Wright. I really do think Sam Worthington is going to be one of the most sought after actors quite soon.

The kid who played Kyle Reese I thought did a great job, I didn't expect him to but they got that character spot on.

I don't understand why they did'nt have the old terminators with rubber skin which were easy to pick off - from what Kyle Reese talks about in the fist movie? A lot of things didn't make sense in this movie but at the end of the day it wasn't a total loss.

I'd rather have Worthington instead of Bale in the next movie by a LONG shot.

lol, this film... Just lol.
The Sony product placement... lol.

Terrible future war against the machines, don't worry though, Sony's production lines still going strong.
Sony Vaio, the hackers choice.

Watched it yesterday, more plot holes and silly plot points than I can remember but still enjoyed it for some reason, thought it had some good action set pieces and was easy to watch. Will say though, just didn't feel like a termintator film to me but still better than the cheesefest that was Terminator 3.

T1 > T2 > T:S >>>>>>>>>>>T3

T2 > T1 > T3 > TS

T3 atleast had the cool ending which is how it should have went with connor in the romo with all the radios n everybody wondering what the hells going on, atlast it gave the idea that there was a war going on outside with al lthe nukes/robots flying all over.

in TS u never see more than one terminator on screen at a time, what kind of war is this? In the current economic crisis Skynet have decided no more than 1 terminator shall be produced per square mile? oh n skynets guarded by 1 big ass robot and an arnie look alike? what a joke. T3 > TS atleast it wasn't a complete pile of trash.
