it'll get worst next year. the teams with the good cars will continue to advance while the teams with rubbish cars will struggle to catch up. It's exactly because of the huge rule changes that the field is close. If the budget caps go ahead it'll make it even worse due to lack of money for development.
Personally I think that because its two different teams regularly competing for the wins its nowhere near so bad as Ferrari, Ferrrari, Ferrari
Not really - new design for everyone, just as Ferrari and McLaren started badly this year, who says Williams or who ever else cant build a stonking design?
Brawn could be mid table due to challanging for the title this season (as much bigger teams have shown how difficult it can be to challange for that year's title and start designing the next years one also)
There are quite a few significant rule changes next year design wise - could do the same again as this year
The story goes they didnt want hill after the total **** up he made of 95. The decision was made then to shed him after 96. Personally I believe he was shed when he demanded 10-12 million after winning the title. I find it hard to believe even if they preferred JV that they wouldn't cash in on a british driver and one that worked well with Jacques.
A huge mistake by Hill who was then offered a performance based contract by Mclaren for 1 million per win. He turned that down as insulting to a world champion and ended up at arrows as the other places where all gone.
why are people finding it boring when 1st is always button?
what about all the other positions? the 2nd league below button can be just as interesting.![]()
KERS works great for mclaren and to a lesser degree ferrari. Its almost impossible to overtake them, hence Rubens got into so much trouble this weekend. Like Martin Brundle said, "is that classic racing?" as Kovi just pushed a button a flew back past Rubens. No, its stupid and irrating.i don't find it anymore boring than any other years to be honest
most years there is one driver that dominates
i did hope the racing would be better with the rule changes
but i know really that overtaking wouldnt be any easier, like a lot on here said it would be.
one of the guys from force india said a few races back on bbc that there only 20% down on last years downforce, so much for the rule changes to make the racing better. also kers is a none event and will be dropped at some point
bike racing is so much better to watch if you want action and overtaking
I read that as well, a shame really as I quite liked KERS as (in theory at least) it allowed better overtaking.KERS is apparently going to be shelved in 2010 to cut costs according to the BBC.
Got to say I didn't bother watching the whole race, found it extremely boring when realistically only Button could win that race and no one else stood a chance. This season has been so much worse than the previous few seasons and it can only be bad for F1 to go back to the days of only one person winning. The season is over in another 1 or 2 races, why bother watching the rest of the season.
then its a pitty the race director only ever bothers with the cars at the front.what about all the other positions? the 2nd league below button can be just as interesting.
and Jenson only dropping 4 points all season isnt Brawn Brawn Brawn ? with 7 races gone they've already had 3 1,2s
Not really. Ferrari and McLaren were spending design time on their 2008 cars right up to the end of the season, because it was so tight right up to end of the season.
In 2009, unless something changes drastically, eg someone makes a MASSIVE improvement quickly, Brawn can begin concentrating on their 2010 car pretty soon I would imagine?
Saying that, the likes of Ferrari, McLaren and BMW will probably abandon their 2008 projects within the 4-6 weeks to start concentrating on their 2010 car (or as soon as the rules are sorted out!!)
Mal
alteast when it was schumacher winning a lot he had a proper rival and the championship often got decided in the last 2 races.
