most expensive software you ever paid for?

how many of you would pay say £29.99 for Windows if that's how much it was for home users?

I do pay for Windows now, but when I was growing up, I simply didn't have the money to shell out the extra £100 for an OS

I assume many others on here are in the same boat, and would rather spend the £50-100 on a better graphics card.

Microsoft need to lower the price of the Home market software dramatically imo, for the end user anyway. They must be missing out on a substantial ammount in the enthusiast area

Vista home basic retail £179.99

I must say, that's pretty expensive since you can actually now get a retail license of Windows Vista Home Premium for £135.69.

The most I have ever paid for software was around £80 which was an OEM license of Windows Vista Home Premium.

I'm sorry to admit but I can't afford to buy the big expensive programs. Not when it's so so so easy to just download stuff.

Therefore the most expensive software I've bought is gonna be a PC game at about £30! BF2, FM2008 etc.

Everything through work though is paid for.

Not me personally but my company pays for MSC Nastran/Patran, Autocad Mechanical 2009 and COSMOS F.E. will be more if I get my way and get Inventor/3D modelling software.

Photoshop CS2, 3Ds Max 8 and Visual Studio 2005 - can't remember exactly how much it cost, but my bank balance was hurting afterwards :p

Wanting to upgrade to CS4, Max 2010, Visual Studio 2008 (or 2010 by the time I can afford it) soon-ish.
