if so, that would go some way to explain why he left you with a clean pair of heels. Those v6 clios are weapons.

This is a funny thread. If the Clio owner posted up about how he roasted a new Cayman I doubt the response would be the same...
Oh and in my experience, V6 Clios are disappointingly slow. I didn't think there was much in it between a slightly modded 172 cup at all (full exhaust, sports cat, ktec chip).

As Rotty said, it was 2-300yds so to me it just sounds like the Clio saw the Cayman in its mirror, decided to put its foot down and by the time Rotty had reacted it was all over.
I'm sure if the situation was reversed the Clio would've been left behind in exactly the same way.

It's impossible to tell unless you saw it first hand. I'd assume there was quite a difference for Rotty to have posted up about it, and more than a 'jump'.

I have heard this from 2.0 owners, I figured they were kidding themselves. How is this right and if it is the case, what is the point in the V6 performance wise?
The V6 is just heritage. Showing what they can do.
It's an awesome car, and it would give a 2.0 a run for its money.
The reason that they are so matched is the weight, the V6 Laguna lump is not light.
It's also a bit tricky to drive on the edge, as being mid engined RWD with a short wheel base, it likes to spin.

Supercharger = always spooling up.
Turbo = Spools up at a certain rpm.
S/C is a much more liner delivery,
Depends a NGT Garrett can be more linear than a centrifugal S/C setup.

He was behind a Clio, not aware it was going to pull away quickly. It did, he then put his foot down but was pretty unlikely to catch up within 200 yards.
Bit of a non story really but if it makes the Clio fans happy then so be it.
And a 295BHP Cayman S isn't?
