You really do rely on a very limited world view don't you? Of course the construction industry has seen a massive fall off in demand. The housing sector has slowed dramatically, construction in all commercial sectors has ground to a virtual halt and only public sector construction projects continue at any pace. Of course there will always be exceptions, such as your observation(I haven't made this observation by looking out of my window and not seeing a builder, I am a consultant to leisure real estate developers and therefore have facts to rely on.)
If this is how you research and process information, no wonder you have such a shallow grasp of politics and reach such monumentally flawed conclusions.

The amount of cranes in London will show you otherwise.
I know there has been a downturn but to say nobody is building anything, and all builders are out of work is wrong.
