The all encompassing BNP thread - keep all crap in here.

I am well aware what you posted it in response to. The post you were responding to was correct - and I don't think he meant literally building nothing - he obviously meant a huge downturn in construction. He was totally and utterly correct but you couldn't resist making a crass and contradictory post. That is why I pointed out how baseless your comment was. I'm not hysterical thanks, just bored of you and happy to pick up where you are wrong.

You helpfully refer to the number of cranes in London and since I have Drivers Jonas Q1 2009 Crane Report on my hard drive it is rather easy for me to reference. The first paragraph states speculative space under construction in London is down 35%, a huge margin. The second paragraph states the lowest ever quarterly take up of new property. Also in the second paragraph they state that there are only 6 new office scehemes in London, the lowest number of new schemes since this research began many years ago. I think that would suggest construction companies are hurting because of the downturn rather than those pesky polish workers, wouldn't you?

Given that I haven't said anything to the contrary, why are you making these straw man arguments?

Someone posted something which was wrong ('nobody is building anything', au contraire yes they are, quite a lot in fact. Yes there is a downturn but there is still a LOT of building work going on), I corrected them. Then you jump in with the rolleyes, telling me I'm an idiot blah blah blah... well I suppose if it makes you happy :)

Wikipedia? You mean the site that anyone can edit and which also happens to claim that Kermit the Frog was involved in the Jack the Ripper case?

I dont get why people keep bashing Wikipedia cause "anyone can edit it". The Wiki staff change anything stupid like that Kermit thing within minutes of it being posted and you can report things that are wrong anyway. I have never once been called up on false information when used for college work.

wow that was a sensible post. A jack the ripper conspiracy and kirmit is in the suggested suspects list.
At least use something which supports your argument.

Does anyone else think there'll be another English civil war in a few decades time?

It just seems to me that the following is happening:

1. white, working class get ****** off because no-one is listening to their concerns about immigration and so vote BNP.
2. BNP gain small amount of success in largely irrelevant elections.
3. mainstream parties react by saying "OMG this is terrible! we must not pander to the BNP by tolerating any criticism of the multi-cultural agenda and immigration policies"
4. white, working class get even more ****** off that no-one is listening to them and even more of them vote BNP.
5. anti-BNP collective become even more violent and suppressive of anything that criticises multi-culturalism.

No. If immigration were such a vote winner we would have expected the tories under Howard to have polled much stronger. It was after all one of their main issues they campaigned on. A marginal increase in absolute numbers of BNP voters suggest the massive anti-immigration, working class discontent you're talking about isn't materialising, and certainly not to the extent of a civil war.

The important thing in each case is to check the source. In the case of this delightful quote:

Nick Griffin said:
"I am well aware that the orthodox opinion is that 6 million Jews were gassed and cremated and turned into lampshades. Orthodox opinion also once held that the world is flat... I have reached the conclusion that the 'extermination' tale is a mixture of Allied wartime propaganda, extremely profitable lie, and latter witch-hysteria."

It is reported on the BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/static/in_depth/programmes/2001/bnp_special/roots/1998.stm

And as it is a statement in court would also be recorded in the records of the trial.

So it is pretty much on public record that he is a holocaust denier.

I can only reach the conclusion from the way you have questioned Hatter The Mad's post that you think that the Wikipedia section about him denying the Holocaust has been falsified.

I love people who are ignorant about Wikipedia and can't actually be bothered to see the sources that are cited, so just for you, to list but a few:

http://www.northamptonshirerec.org.uk/news/BNP.pdf
http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/static/in_depth/programmes/2001/bnp_special/the_leader/beliefs.stm
http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2001/jul/01/immigration.race
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...2009-BNP-leader-Nick-Griffin-BNP-profile.html

So clearly not a Holocaust denier then, right?

I think it is an odd state of affairs when the government says 'this is our version of history, and if you disagree you are a 'denier' and guilty of racial hatred' - is that how a free country operates, with freedom of speech and thought? Not in my book.

it is history backed up with evidence.
Then you have a very twisted world view, but we already knew that.

It did support my argument, the argument that anyone can edit Wikipedia.

Yeah, and someone happened to edit that Wikipedia page with facts, that have been referenced at the end of the article, and are all reputable sources, many more of which can be easily googled. What was the point of questioning Hatter The Mad's point in the first place  So what if it was Wikipedia he linked to, it's still true

Do you think only BNP voters are concerned about mass immigration?

No, but it's certainly not the vote-winner you think it is. You may hate immigrants and believe them to be the cause of anything and everything wrong in this country, but the vast majority of people care far more about the state of the economy; something the BNP offers only flimsy policies on. With first-past-the-post, voters will be far more concerned with removing New Labour and voting Conservative than voting for an incompetent group of racists (though admittedly many conservatives woud fall under that description:p).

You are mistaken, holocaust denial is not a crime in the UK and Britain have specifically stopped European legislation making it a crime. What generally happens though is that those denying the holocaust also spout some more nonsense that get them under "inciting racial hatred" the law Nick Griffin was prosecuted under.

Saying that anybody that does deny the holocaust has no real business making important decisions.

No.

No.

I bet most voters are very concerned with mass immigration.
