**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Times online and a few others are quoting that its £20m every summer for four years, rather than £80m now.

That will drastically cut SAF's spending power this summer.

It is also in a few papers this morning that SAF is pushing through the purchase of Valencia before this weekend for £17.5m rising to £22.5m (seeing as he cost £1m, thats huge rip off - £12m - 15m total and that would have been a good buy)

Tevez wont be coming back to Utd, so personally think we need a £20m DM and a striker more than we need full backs and if Nani goes along with Frazier then another winger would be great (although Welbeck looks handy out wide)

I read yesterday that Welbeck has been transfer listed - I think the article has it wrong though , as I thought it was Gibson, Manucho and Campbell who where listed and not Welbeck (especially as SAF thinks Danny should have a big role in the World Cup next summer)

Sickening

ive seen you post this a few times, but, you dont honestly think United *dont* have the money to spend do you? I mean, its a guaranteed 20m a year for one player so even if he does spend it now it will be reaccumulated over the coming seasons anyway.

its been reported this morning the glazers have said he can spend it all too.

After the inital "ffs" reaction, I now think this is an exciting time to be a Man Utd fan. I love seeing who Fergie brings in to replace his number 7's.

80m for ronaldo is better than having him moaning all the time that he doesn't want to stay and not performing at a 100% for them. That could bring the team down. I don't really care if he goes really as I am a west ham fan. Wondering why roman abramovich didn't dig down the side of his sofa for him but i guess Alex wouldn't of sold him to him and if he did it would probably be for 120+ million.

The BBC gossip column is crap this morning.

All but one item is about Manchester United in some way, shape or form. One about Liverpool and one about Man City buying Carlos Tevez which kind of counts as United related, and the rest is ALL about them.

BORING!

With the £70m or so Utd owe for servicing the loan, Im not sure exactly how much SAF will be given (excl how ever much we get this summer for Ronny) without player sales for transfers.

Fergie has never bought a lot of players at once anyway, usually its one or two - I guess potentially he could buy three in total as Ronny was 1st XI (rather than a squad player , or loan like Frazier - whom SAF wont replace straight away from external)

Its not gauranteed that Utd have that kind of cash to spend straight away even if it is owed in years to come. Imagine if Utd do spend it all and for some reason DONT gaurantee CL football for a season or two....(with all the money a few teams are spending its certainly possible) - that would completely ***** up loan repayments etc and put the club in a whole lot of ****

No, I meant Giggs the centre half

Well in a number of games in the EPL playing in the centre of midfield as a three, he has played decent games - so while not first pick, he could be a good squad player for lower league teams playing at OT and maybe a few away games too

As a winger, he cant cut it anymore which is what I was trying to indicate (apart from the fact he hasnt played on the wing for the whole season, apart from about 2 partial games)

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists it was his decision entirely to allow Ronaldo to leave for Madrid.
(Full story: Daily Express)

Sir Fergie said:
"Do you think I would enter into a contract with that mob?" he said. "No chance. I would not sell them a virus. That is a 'no' by the way. There is no agreement whatsoever between the clubs."

I guess he hasn't gone back on his word, technically;)

Chelsea will sign an Italian player from Italy apparently altough I don't know who, hopefully not the aging Pirlo:)

You put your transfer in, your transfer out
In, out, in, out, you **** your club about
You do the Christiano and you change your mind, that's what it's all about.
Ohhhh Ronaldo is a ****er, ohhhh Ronaldo is a ****er,
Ohhhh Ronaldo is a ****er, knees bent, arms stretched, dive, dive, dive.

Brilliant :D

As far as signings go, i'd really rather we didn't get Ribery, regardless of cost. From what i've seen of him, he's never really stood out, so for £50m, it's just ridiculous, I wouldn't even go for £20m.

He's an ugly ****er as well, so my opinion may be slightly based on that too.

Cesc has said he's staying again:) I bet he's linked with both Barca and Real at least 17 times between now and the start of the season.

Regardless of your opinion, Ribery is the closest like-for-like match for Ronaldo available, he's ridiculously quick, confident, charges at defenders, got a great shot on him, he really is one of the top players in the world.

Messi will never leave Barca and I'm quite sure he has a buy out fee which is over £100m, so first you'll need more than £80m, then convince Barca that they need the money, then convince Messi to come to Utd from Barca, and then pay him enough to make it worth his while. None of those are ever going to happen.

He always struck me as a hot and cold player, he certainly was in France but not seen or heard much of him in Germany.
