Disillusioned Gaming Moments!

Metal gear solid 4, a series built over 20 YEARS and that is the **** slap of an ending we get.

GTA4, totally soul less.

Zelda Wind waker.

That's impressive; you've named my favourite games in each of those series!!! Although OOT gives WW a close run, and I haven't played MGS 2 or 3, but all the games you mentioned are great in my own opinion; clearly we have very different tastes :D

For me it was probably the Wii; it's not even the lack of graphical prowess and of multimedia capabilities that has disappointed me, but the lack of stuff for "gamers". It is a great idea, and I can obviously understand why Nintendo are catering to the mass market (they're making a mint!), but from the point of view of a bit Nintendo fan and a proper gamer, as opposed to a casual gamer, it's pretty poor! Especially since I bought one at launch and it sat gathering dust until I sold it over a year later!

And Fallout 3...gave it under an hour before getting utterly bored with it all and trading it in :(

It’s got to be assassin’s creed for me, I love the era its set in and was really looking forward to immersing myself in this game, but after a couple of missions it was ruined by the repetitive game play, I really struggled to get to the end.

STALKER. :(
Waited for it for ever, Got a sig made & everything, Game sounded like the next step on, Turned out to be boring pap, Gutted.

I agree with this. STALKER was suppose to have all these things that would make it unique, so many promises broken on that game.

Super Mario Sunshine
Just not as good as the game previous, at least they sorted it out for SMG.

Sword Of Mana - I loved Secret Of Mana on the SNES, absolutely fabulous game. Got this on the GBA and it was completely devoid of any character, story, gameplay ... no hook whatsoever. I played Secret again recently and it was STILL good. No rose tints there.

Knights Of The Old Republic - Universally regarded as the only decent Star Wars game since Phantom Menace hit the cinema. Bought it, booted up in eagerness. The first planet was dire. The conversation standard was dire with choices of dialogue either being po faced serious holy boy, absolute dimwit hateful idiot (no classy sinister Darth Vader dark side here) or pretty bland middle of the road. The combat was uninvolving, the locations restricted, coming from a Metal Gear Solid fan I found the general dialogue tedious. After a while I realised I was playing with gritted teeth purely because my main character could swing a lightsaber around. Traded it for Morrowind which was like KOTOR with the training wheels taken off. Lightyears ahead.

HalfLife 2 - The box said something like 36 GOTY awards and based on all I'd heard of this and the original, installed with glee. Outstanding intro, really immersive. Sadly shortly after that the game turns into an A to B dash between checkpoints where people inform you that you need to head "that way" where you no doubt meet some more people with some nifty directions. Half way through I started to wonder why I was playing the game ... the story is there if you want it people said, I wanted it, it wasn't there. However reading about it on wiki was interesting. :\ ... I installed Day Of Defeat:Source and that was much more rewarding.

FFXII also. No issues with the battle system, I really enjoyed roaming the land, the side missions etc.... the big issue was the vague and uninvolving story. The crux of FF games. Without that, I just lost my way and put it down never to pick up again.

I might try and hit it again before FF13 hits. Viva back compat!

HL2 on the PS3. Was really looking forward to playing this but they hashed up the port something cronic. :(

Halo 2 and 3. So much hype, so many people bought them, recommended them, banged on about them. I found them to be quite average FPS games with crappy stories :(

Agreed actually, They've never managed to make a game as good as the Halo 1 game :( I know some people arent liking the look of ODST, But I am, Im hoping it brings me back to Halo again
