Murray in Form

Good to see Murray building confidence, but I wont get overly excited about it in terms of Wimbledon. Murray has won queens, but there was no Nadal, no Federer, no Djokivic, no Del Potro. In fact in the world rankings, the only one in the top 5 who was in the tournament was Murray.

Its kind of like Liverpool winning the league but there being no Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal involved.

Best of luck to him though at Wimbledon. Just keeping my feet rooted firmly on the ground

Nadal is partially injured due to ongoing knee problem - he certainly isnt going to be fully fit for Wimbledon (whether anyone can make use of that is another matter however)

Djokovic was beaten by Haas at another tournement today (in Germany?)

You can only beat who's infront of you at any rate - and Murray never lost a set during the whole tournement, thats pretty decent form who ever you are playing 5 matches in a row

I agree it means nothing for Wimbledon - apart from the added confidence, lets just hope for a good draw for Murray

Dont get me wrong, I'm not knocking it. He did play fabulously throughout the tournament. But as you rightly say, you can only beat who is in front of you, of course if the other 4 people in the worlds top 5 arent even in the tournament then they cant be put in front of you. So I have to take the win within that context.

To continue my football analogy, if Liverpool won the Champions League...but for some reason that year Barcelona, Man Utd and Chelsea werent in it, Liverpool fans would almost certainly be hearing about that from people on the forums :)

Andy Murray.

Opinions, is he good enough to win Wimbledon, with Rafal suffering with knee problems and Roger supposedly exhausted, could this be his best chance?.

I this to do with his Anti English stance that has been reported in the past?

It's just a light-hearted joke, of course I'll be disappointed if he doesn't win Wimbledon. Rumours that I was wearing a James Blake tennis shirt yesterday are completely untrue :p

On current form, and ranking, I suppose he could win - but I don't really consider him a truly great player (unlike Federer or Nadal).

Isnt that mentioning the obvious, he hasnt won multiple grand slams like those two. I believe he has the potential to win multiple grand slams - watch the way he plays.

The guy has come on heaps and bounds since I first watched him play, but I just cant stand him.

Fairdo's if he gets far. Dont think he'll win though.

He is a Scottish Henman, he should've finished his match yesterday a lot quicker than he did, he kept letting the guy back in the match, he has no chance of winning Wimbledon.

Let me be clearer, I don't think he has the same innate talent and will ever be as good as them.

With Nadal's knees getting worse every season (and by the sounds of people who should know this isnt likely to get better or easy to change), and Fed frequently getting beaten by Murray - its not beyond reason that AM could be No1 in the world in a season or two , and to my mind would be fully deserved
