Help me find a shop that sells these metal bars please

Hi,

My flat was broken into last week and the locksmith put this bar across the window and I would like to put another couple across as a deterent. The windows are quite long and thin and really needs to be white so it looks less like a prison

My google skills are failing and can't find anything on the B&Q site that would resemble this. It's metal as you can see just about 0.5cm thick.

If anyone can find a shop that I could buy them I woul be very grateful. Can't think what to search for that doesn't bring up lots of results.

i guess thats why he wants more. yes 1 or 2 screws is quick, but 10 or 12? more risky.

I don't have the locksmiths number. It was done through the mangement agent but I will ask if I can't find anything suitable.

You wouldn't be able to see the screwheads form outside the window so but would hopefully be enough of a deterent. I live on the ground floor!

More a deterent and there is now window alarms so no one is going to hang around unscrewing bars from the outside. Hopefully anyway!

Try to find a window security grille, much classier and easier to install than 12-odd metal bars.

Okay isit just me and you that can't see what this does?

The window opens outwards..... so the burgular breaks in through the window... what is the bar actually doing?

Thanks and I would rather this but the landlord isn't keen to install fixed grills. I can remove these when I move when my lease is up.

It's a deterent to hopefully stop anyone trying to bother getting the window open which is now secured by multi purpose bolts top and bottom and 1.5 inch screws in both handles.

The B&Q website is gash, they don't have hardly anything listed that's in the shop, you actually have to go there and look around...

B&Q do sell metal of various types at least at the larger stores.

If the landlord doesn't want to bother then just get your stuff insured, take pictures of everything and keep them offsite, and then who cares if someone breaks in? Let the landlord deal with it.
