Seems the GM that was released is infact the same as the final firmware being released now.
- Backup phone in iTunes (e.g. perform a sync)
- Keep iPhone connected to PC/Mac
- Hold down Power+Home on the phone until you see a message about the phone being in recovery mode
- Let go of the buttons now
- Click "Restore"
- Done
This will ruin your jailbreak, but I cannot talk of this here.
You ain't the only smug onewhich is why I am feeling pretty smug for installing it a week ago and don't need to pant n sweat tonight. mms was working for me at 8:30am today too.

Anyone found that their contacts are missing? Everything else seems fine, just the issue with missing contacts!

oh nooo! Yes same here. I did back everything up with itunes but what it's done with it I don't know. I'm having to manually download all my apps again. I'm buggered with my contacts though, don't keep them anywhere else![]()
when i hold down the power and home button i get no recovery mode, i only get the power off option and if i keep holding it it just turns off
