**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

I agree, family always comes first but the thing is though the "Missus isn't settled line" is quite often dragged up as an excuse for the agent to tout the player around to all the big clubs :(

I swear it's something with those Argies we had it with Heinze who after his first season with us (a first season where he impressed everyone) he was already asking for a move away the following summer, it's only because he was injured for the entire second season that we kept him for that third when he was ultimately kept out of the team by Evra. We've now obviously got a similar situation with Tevez and then there's Veron who only last two season's at UTD and then only one at Chelsea

I know thats factually correct - but a lot of foreign players (and to an extent British too - Beckham/posh!) - Vidic's wife is rumoured to be unhappy too, fortunately he seems to be commited to Utd though.

If Masch leaves Liverpool they'll have a job finding somebody as good who's available

Yaya Toure + £50m should lighten the blow.

Not that I want him to go, but if he's decided he wants to go then might as well get a decent deal out of it, particularly with 3 years or so left on his contract.

He's good but he takes too long on the ball and doesn't create amazing chances out of nothing as much as he used to. Seems to have lost a yard of pace too. That and he is always injured, wouldn't mind if he went really if it was £25m or so, any less and I'd keep him, he still hasn't hit top form imo. He slows down Arsenal's play pretty badly, similar to Berbatov at Man Utd.
Wasn't he our second highest assist-maker (after Cesc) last season?

He's a great player but every time I think of my ideal starting XI next year he isn't involved, no point in having somebody that talented on the bench so I wouldn't mind him leaving, I dunno, just don't feel it'd be a disaster if any of Arsenal's strikers left this summer, there's too many of them.

Eduardo

Arsh

Rosicky Cesc DM Nasri/Feo

I agree, Benitez needs to be more stubborn than he's ever been regarding this situation.

Drain every last penny they can out of the deal and make sure they get a decent replacement otherwise we'll be seeing Lucas's name first on the team sheet every week along with kuyt.

Not likely but that would be a cracking deal

I have seen figures of £45m being quoted for him
(not saying thats what he is worth before anybody jumps on that)

You'd have someone who hasn't played in something like 18 months and has no guarantee that he'll be back at previous form in your starting XI over one of our best players? Madness.

I think they just use that excuse instead of the player saying "I can't stand it here anymore and want to leave" just in case a deal falls through so that the player doesn't **** the fans off:)

Has anyone heard anything more about aguero? He seems to have disappeared off the transfer radar...

Apparently he wants £200k AFTER tax from City

And apparently £160k a week after tax from Chelsea, all paper nonsense:)

Personally I hope he doesnt go. I think he is one step away from greatness, he just needs that one more step. I would be very surpirsed to see him go with all the interviews he has been on talking up the team.

He will stay ;)

Who, Arshavin? I see Robin as a SS and he doesn't touch Arshavin unfortunately in that position. Eduardo > Ade, even with a broken leg.

Arsenal need mobility up front to become prolific again and that midfield and attack is mouth wateringly good at off the ball movement

Errr, no, since when has Arshavin been out for 18 months?

I'm talking about Rosicky. Until we know how good he is again, I don't see how you can include him in your preferred starting line-up for next season, over someone who's had a pretty good last season, all told. I'd sooner push Arshavin back to the left to accommodate van Persie than I would play someone with questionable ability and fitness right now.

Im not sure what Liverpool have got to do with what I said ;) (if they keep Alonso and Masch, which I think may be unlikely - then they will def be up there again)

I think Arsenal have lost a couple of valuable players since then (without considering RvP if he goes or not) - so that comparison isnt completely valid.
I would suggest its more than two good players (and when has Wenger bought a number of seasononed pros in one window - I dont know for sure but it must be quite rare, which would suggest it would be a few summers to start with)

Maybe Im completely wrong, just the way I see it ;)

I just don't think Arsenal can be ruled out for 'x' number of years when an 'inexperienced' Arsenal team (2008) finished the same number of points behind Man Utd as Liverpool did last season. Sure they need a few additional players but you can't rule them out. I certainly don't see Liverpool achieving that points total again next season which in itself wouldn't have been enough to win the league in the last 6 years.

Just got in from work, Masc to Barca for 45mill!! Firstly, don't Barca need to agree a fee with us for them to talk to him? Secondly, Rafa came out and said he wasn't for sale. Please let this be paper talk!
