Tax on electricity to fund carbon capture plan enjoy

UNELECTED? sorry but I thoughy you voted for the PARTY and not the individual.
Actually you vote for your local representative, although not many people seem to realise that, and the party with enough MPs to form a government does so and the leader of that party becomes the Prime Minister. It's not at all like the US where they directly elect their president.

It's not really very stealthy is it.

By stealth I assume he means that we are being taxed for somethign we are already being taxed for therefore this tax probably has an alterior motive.

Tax tax tax, it's mounting up on all the little things. Individually they sound cheap but it's getting out of hand.

I'd love to see a breakdown of what tax goes to what cause, like road duty. My council tax pays for fixing the local roads (that they never fix/fix properly) and I pay my own insurance and my insurance pays for any road damage caused by accidents, yet I lose £210 a year for a quickish hatchback. That's basically a £210 green tax per year? So why am I gonna have to pay extra on my leccy bills too (not that I have a bill, prepayment loser meters atm).

Oh excellent. I wa enjoying my cup of tea until reading this. I feel like bringin the tea back up and offering it to Gordon Brown along with a couple of rich tea I have wiped my arse with.

Moving to France is just getting that little bit nearer. Go on Brown, keep pushing it!!

Make me a cuppa and I will bring an extra packet of rich t's. I will glady do the same too him! Bloody goverment makes me sick

Every tax goes to a central reserve. There is no separate beneficiary of taxes.

Which is something else that should be changed. Targeted taxation should be ringfenced strictly to deal with addressing social and fiscal costs of the target of the taxation.

Our whole system of government spending needs fundamental reform though...

I thought we did vote for Labour at the last general election, or was there some military coup that I missed?

I didn't, but that's not my point. My point is that none of the government were elected to their positions and most (if not all) of them weren't their party's choice for the position at the last election.

I don't see what you mean - the country already is a joke and it's not just the people on top that are to blame. Half the people alive today are contributing to the bloody mess rather than trying to help it.

It's all money, money, money. People need to stop thinking with their ****ing wallet for a change and start trying to remember what it means to be a person. It's not hard to not **** on other people, but people still manage to make it their daily ****ing agenda. That is what's wrong with this country: the people.

That's fine then, we'll let you pay the tax share for 10 of us. You can rebate us all when you're ready.

Sound fair? No?

Money is the very basis of existence, and there's no denying it. If you think that lowly of it, then see my above statement - give yours to the rest of us and you can go homeless. After all, it really doesn't mean that much.

Oh well, a few pensioners earning nothing because of the useless boe's rate drops will have to go without heating their homes.

+1

If there would be no cash I would have no reason to work, go studying, etc at all, I'd lie in bed all day long doing nothing, since there's nothing to earn anyways. Money is the driving force of many people.

I go to work and education in the hope I can some day buy a nice big house and fill it with luxury's, a nice big car, and simply make as much money as possible.

OT:

What a retarded idea, I hate any ''green'' tax.

Nuclear does not produce any CO2 ... so if we actually were a bit more like France

The extraction, processing and transport of uranium definitely does, do not underestimate this...
And then there's nuclear waste, which must be transported, and stored in safety too...

But at the same time, I don't really give a **** about CO2 anyways.
