Catch it and look at its tag for a phone number. Contact the owners and deal with them. The cat is innocent and if you kill it, you'll go down. I'd only kill an animal if it was attacking me or someone else.

Just set up a trap. It could be fun. :)

out neighbours cat used to do this blasting it with the hose stopped it though.

+1. This will solve all 3 problems of stopping the cat going on your lawn, you getting 'revenge' on the cat and the cat not having to die.

To be honest, I'm not sure anyone who wants to KILL a cat for having a poo on his lawn should really be in charge of kids.

The hose will do the job.

Definately not a fox, fox poo is very different to cat.

No it's not, and it's common to mistake one for the other.

The rule of thumb is that if it's buried or an attempt to bury it has been made, it's cat, not fox. If it's on a lawn, 99% it's fox.

You probably DO have some cat poo if a cat's been sniffing about, but it'll be buried somewhere rather than out in the open.

Still, never let facts get in the way of a good rant, that's what I always say!

Install a bed of retractable razor sharp spikes under your lawn and then play the waiting game...this will ultimately be more interesting than just shooting them.

i know this might be shocking, but different foxes, who eat from different area's and different rubbish, will have different looking poo. Also a humungous old male fox's crap won't look the same as a baby fox's crap.

As for cats, as almost everyone has told you, its fairly rare for cats to crap and not bury it. They are taught by their parents very very early to cover up what they do and will rarely not bury what they do. In fairness we did have one evil ginger cat who never did but was easy enough to keep it from wanting to be in the garden.

THere are smells cats hate, infact theres loads of smells cats hate, from flowers to sprays that you can stick around the garden that will keep cats out and be completely safe for your kids and not smell badly to you. Likewise theres stuff like the water sprays you can get £20, connect it to garden hose, has a movement sensor and shoots off a few shots of water, will certainly shift cats(and foxes) out of your garden very very fast. Or as suggested the ultrasonic noise things you can get that will again keep cats and foxes out of your garden.

Thought about this but i can hear bats as they fly about so will eaily hear one of them :(

no you cant.

bats use a frequency of 30khz up to 120khz human hearing only goes up to 20khz and thats if you have spot on hearing.

you say its cats but as said cats dont just crap all over the place if they have any way of burying it, fox crap is similar to cat poo but they do it all over the place since they are like dogs, how can you know its a act if youve never seen them :s

Lol at the muppet & ****, it's definately neither of those. We had the same problem, cats crapping on the lawn, was driving me nuts, tried everything then got a cat of our own. That worked and hopefully it craps on the culprits owners lawn.
As much as I love my cat I can understand why someone would want to shoot it, I hated them for crapping on my lawn.

Put a dead mouse in a mouse trap left open. This way you dont actually kill it, it kills itself.

Either that or just poison it, then it will go and die somewhere else

Farmers are allowever to shoot vermin, be it fox's, rats or even dogs if on their land.

I have a cat problem, i spent 30 mins this afternoon clearing my tiny front lawn of 22 piles of cat faeces, bloody revolting. Understandably this cant go on and i want the vermin (cats) dead.

So am i actually allowed to shoot them if i catch them deficating on my land??

maybe its a neighbour that doesnt like u thats making his dog/pony/fish etc crap in your garden or just chucking it in your garden
