Have United signed Casillas?

They did the same thing before they announced the Berbatov transfer was completed.

I very much doubt it, in fact if you change that number at the end (the number after bioid= ) , it just comes up with a player for virtually any number, virtually none of them utd players.

I suspect what is far more likely is that its just a database of players which is used to show the profiles of the two teams on match day , hence all the non-utd players.

Thats why Raul is on there too

And Zinedine Zidane

And Roberto Carlos

And so on.

at least the dozy bulgarian turned down man city when they offered more money and had the ambition to move to a larger club and try to break into the 'best attacking partnership we'd had in years'. then he at least didn't cry to the press whenever he missed a big game.

that is of course assuming that tevez takes the city offer.

According to Setanta Xabi has given an interview and said he has no plans to leave and him and Benitez get on fine.

The Mirror have chosen to report the story in the following way:

'But his relationship with the manager became increasingly frosty last season and it now looks likely that he will be on his way out of Liverpool this summer'

Not sure what I make of this with Tevez. He is obviously a fan's favourite and rightly so but I think Utd have kept pretty much a dignified silence throughout this year on his situation other than a few cryptic soundbites from Gill that they would sit down at the end of the season and talk it through. Which to be fair is pretty much club policy. Joorabchian said that Utd gave them a deadline to consider the contract offer and quite rightly so. He could have dragged this out till August and still ****** off and left us in a position where we couldn't buy a replacement.

They cite that we have shown a lack of commitment to Tevez. If memory serves correct, it was Utd who went out of there way to secure the loan transfer from West Ham two years ago and sort out the whole sorry mess for him that Joorabchian, West Ham and the Premier League had created. So no I do not accept what they say about lack of commitment.

When you take a step back from it I think you can clearly see who is pulling the strings on this and it certainly isn't Tevez that's for sure. If playing time was an issue in the big games, then the natural progression would be Liverpool surely as they are in need of a player to come off Torres. But Joorabchian wouldn't allow it as 'Pool wanted to pay in instalments. Citeh will offer him +£20k a week more than anyone but when the high profile games are all at home in the Premierleague it shows a lack of ambition to me. As for the Chelsea offer, will his situation be any better there than at Old Trafford given that Ancelloti plays with 1 striker so he will always be in rotation there.

Replacement wise, I think Fergie will have a few Irons in the fire. I wouldn't be suprised though if he strengthens more in midfield and gives macheda or wellbeck their wings this year.

I doubt we'll actually be after him but it was reported a while ago that CA was a fan of his.

No-one has signed anyone yet as the window isn't open, The Independent fails.

You only have to look at the reports to see whats happened:-

United organize 2 year loan deal for Tevez.
Its a great success
Tevez wants a commitment to future.
United say at the end of the two year loan period.
Tevez and Agent whine there is no talks.
United say, there will be talks, at the end of the Two years.
Tevez and Agent complain about a lack of respect and commitment, despite the fact the two years isnt up.
Two years is up, united say yes, we will pay the asking price, and give you a big dollop of cash every week, almost as much as our highest paid players.
Tezez and Agent say oooohh, we need some time to think about this.

United say, you have got to be kidding? after all that whining, we offer you what you wanted and more? I tell you what, ******** to you, sling your hook if thats the way it is.
Tevez and kia ora suddenly realize there isnt a stampede of clubs racing to sell Tevez and say a collective "Do'h".

Except he told Man.U. that he didn't want to play for them anymore (according to Man.U's statement) and he has at least Citeh, Chelsea and 2 European teams after him.;)

Thats not what Kia Ora is saying, he is saying the offer was on the table, and Tevez just want to think about it for a few days, at that point United withdrew the offer and told them both to do one.

I think a couple of people will be very surprised at where he actually ends up.

This is the statement from the club:

"Disappointingly, his advisors informed the club that he does not wish to continue playing for Manchester United," read a United statement.

"The club thanks Carlos for his services over the last two seasons and wishes him good luck for the future."

That reads to me that he told them where to shove it:)

Well thats changed from yesterday, as that is not what the direct quotes from Kia Ora where saying.

"When Man United made their offer about 10 days ago, for the first time in two years, we never went back to them to ask about money," Joorabchian told Sky Sports News.

"We just asked for some time to think about it. Obviously they have had two years to think about it and Carlos had to make a decision based on his family.

"Just to make it clear, this has been Carlos' decision. Nobody else would make this decision for him."

Joorabchian added: "We didn't actually reject the offer. Manchester United have ruled themselves out of the running.

Ahh selective journalism at its best, United "Ruled themselves out of the running" that to me equals a big "thanks, but no thanks". The rest is spin by his agent to make it look like he had a say in it.

This is the statement on Man.Us own website:

Following contact received from Carlos Tevez’s advisors last night, in advance of the deadline the Club set for concluding negotiations, Manchester United announces that Carlos will not be signing a new contract with the Club.

The Club agreed to pay the option price of £25.5m and offered Carlos a five-year contract which would have made him one of its highest paid players.

Disappointingly however, his advisors informed the Club that, despite the success he has enjoyed during one of the Club’s most successful periods, he does not wish to continue playing for Manchester United.

The Club would like to thank Carlos for his services over the last two seasons and wishes him good luck for the future.

So before the deadline they set he said no thanks.
It was his choice not play for Man.U. anymore, both parties have said that.

With both sides giving contradictory accounts, who knows what to believe. I don't think Kia is a very credible character to put it mildly.
