Fill the car with petrol and it will 100% fine, trust me
It's a Diesel. I wouldn't recommend it.

Petrol in Derv = No Probs.
Derv in New Petrols = Big probs.
If either are modern engines its very bad mmmkay. High pressure injection is how manufacturers are getting better fuel economy nowadays and you can't get away with dodgy fuel if you are injecting it at 1000psi.other way round.

So its not just a question of 'top it up' and it'll be ok....if the car has been turned over with a strong mix of unleaded them it need to be drained and flushed through.

If you read the OP's post then you'd see he's only put a fivers worth (about a gallon in). Is the tank is brimmed with diesel, it won't be a strong mix for a non-common rail engine.
no, petrol will destroy the innards of a diesel pump but diesel will only cause a petrol engine to stop and not run until its flushed. not very bad, just inconvenient.
btw modern diesel pumps (VE etc.) produce far far higher then 1000psi. closer to 40000 if memory serves.
not a fiver's worth if its diluted with a full tank of diesel
