**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

I was just going to post that.
I don't know much about him but a Citeh fan who posts on a Chelsea site thinks he's got the lot and will be a great player:)

Very promising youngster from what little I have seen him of him. Would say he's a pretty good prospect although I hear he's on quite a fat wage so he'll need to be doing something for it.

Apparently 55k a week. Not bad money for a 19yr old

It's a pretty good wage for a youngster but nothing compared to what players today are earning - usually double that with a sprinkle on top for the top dogs.

If it takes Sturridge five years to come to anything, Chelsea will only have spent £275k in wages, peanuts for the price of a player these days. (If my maths is right :D)

Worth a gamble for that at least.

You need to re-do your math mate. He will have earned that in just 5 weeks.

:o

Crazy wages for a 19y/o who I can only imagine has been playing reserve football?

He's made a few appearances for City's first team and tbf, he's always made an impression.

He's certainly got future in this League but whether he's as good as he thinks and whether to make it at Chelsea is another matter.

I was thinking of how some people don't even earn that amount of money in a year, so naturally my brain then decided I would calculate 55k by years (...5 no less) instead of 52 weeks. :D Sandwich material.

Calculating things the right way then...£2.86m a year is still a pretty small risk for a club like Chelsea. If he fulfills his proper potential he could be a £10m+ striker, be eligible for the Champions League quotas and be a future full International. He'll also be happy to play second fiddle for a bit before coming through.

The one that's had lot's of niggles since his return?

Also, even if it wasn't for the niggles, after such a long injury, there is no way he should be starting games.

He did nearly lose his foot in that tackle, I am sure he will be happy with just a few niggles.

You cant judge him by the last few months of the season. I was pleased that he was able to come back at all. Not alone to score on his return.

When did I judge him? I don't think he should be starting games so soon after recovering fitness because of his health, nothing else.

When I said he got a few niggles, that was argument to why Wenger hadn't played him very often, 'tis all.

Contrary to DM I think he doesn't have a 'pathetically poor touch', in fact I can't think of any player in the league with better chest control than him. I think the reason he gets a lot of games is due to his physique, Arsenal have looked a bit lightweight since Vieira left. Bendtner is the only other 'tall' forward but he doesn't have good enough touch to cope with balls played up to him.

This is basically classic, ONE goal he controlled on his chest then flipped over to score an utterly flukey goal he'll never replicate in his career. I can't think of a single other time in the past 2 years he's controlled the ball on his chest. His touch is pathetically poor, watch any single game with him, the amount of very simple passes at low speed given to him that end up flicked up in the air no where near him, or 10 yards away with a "what the heck happened there" look on his face as the other team runs off with the ball.

In contrast, Bendtner can pluck the ball out of the sky very very well, has done so multiple times, has scored FAR more headers compared to chances than Adebayor, infact I think he did score more headers than Adebayor with half the time on the pitch and usually out of position. He came on and got us back into many a game this year. Likewise his holding up of the ball when forced to play lone striker(its not his role) is far better than Ade's, he gets the ball and plays other people through beyond him, Ade gets the ball and looks for the quickest easiest safest pass as far back as possible, he doesn't even try to start up an attack.

Stuart Taylor actually looked good for us as a youth but just wasn't(at that time) in Lehmans league and too young. THough he came in for the injured Lehman(think it was Lehman) and made some outstanding saves and performances. I think he came in against Inter(juve, someone like that, Roma maybe) and pulled off some great saves, had a run in the league also but once first team keeper was back we never really saw him and he left not too long after. Looked promising back then though.

Fulham, 8mil for Martins would be great, Zamora sucks so so badly and his complete lack of passing ability and his utter lack of pace means Johnson can't use his pace, runs beyond the defence and Zamora can't catch him, or find him with a throughball. Martins will give Johnson a proper partner and maybe give Fulham a real attack this year.
