Oh really? Didn't know that, thanks for the heads up. I thought the series was on the better side of average only, but I'd still like to watch more of it.

Story REALLY develops towards the end. A lot of the background is cleared up but so so much is left to the imagination. Even bones were surprised by its popularity, but dvd sales don't lie. When the new series information was leaked the anime forums were ecstatic, which is always a good sign.

i love the pop culture references in Hayate the Combat Butler :D

Yeah, I love this 2nd season, this is Hinagiku dressing up as Lacus Clyne from Gundam seed singing the OP to EVA :)

edit: just looked the character up on wikipedia, the resembelance between the two is uncanny O.o

ive also been catching up with the 1st season (at 52 episodes thats one long season lol). I'd agree that this season seems allot better.

Cruel Angels Thesis = Best anime song..EVER :D

Just started watching Hayate the combat butler - Lol so good!

Reminds me of Yakitate Japan in comedy style.
Kidnapping is not cool!

Kurikinton Fox's version is so awesome

His versions of God Knows and Lost My Music from Haruhi are also very awesome.

Seen them before, very good. Theres some damn good musicians on youtube for anime songs.

This guy in particular is very good playing CAT on the piano

Also his version of God Knows is insanely good imo.

Yeah there is. Found this Gurren Lagann cover today:

Already learnt half of it on guitar. Anime songs are so damn catchy and good to play. :p

I love how these guitarists make melodies out of the vocals.

oh, yes ... can't let that go past without a comment :) ... Cruel Angels Thesis doesn't even get a mention in my 1.5hour+ "commute" anime playlist, or even the longer "non-commute" version .... examples of things which are on there (no particular order) ...

My-Pace Daiou (Genshiken)
Tears Infection (Myself Yourself)
The Palm of a Tiny Hand (Clannad)
I Do (Ghost in the Shell SAC)
Sayonara (Ah! My Buddha)
Kawaranai Mono (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time)
Don't Say Lazy (K-ON!)
Kujibiki Unbalance (Kujibiki Unbalance (original Under17 version from the original OVA))
Parallel Days (MoHS)

While we're on the subject, does anyone know any anime songs with good guitar riffs/solos? I know there's loads but I can never remember them.

So far I can play the Trigun opening, most of Lost My Music, God Knows and Sorairo Days.

That's ~31 tracks, my full anime playlist is ~51 tracks, plus there's a JPOP list and various series specific playlists. I also have some more CDs to add (several K-ON and Clannad ones and various others)

Well just finished watching Death Note and very much enjoyed it, really my kind of thing. Every episode had twists and turns and left me in suspense of what would happen next.

Need to decide what to go for next now, some of the series recommended just seem absolutely massive for me to start watching from the beginning.
