How much of a difference does this heat wave make?

A few people have been noticing high temps of late. Just how much of a difference does it make?

I am sitting at my PC feeling uncomfortable in the heat (I think it is about 30 degrees outside)

How many degrees will that add to a typical rig?

The room temperature is very impacting on your cpu temps. I'm fortunate enough to have central a/c. In my house it is currently 72F, and I can OC to 4.0GHZ and be fine, but in the winter when it gets 80F in my house 3.8GHZ is the max I can get.

btw-2 days ago it was 95F outside but I'm inside like this ->

intel burn now makes my chip hit 70+ when my CPU fan is at full speed (1000rpm)...

I don't really run IBT much now it's stable tho, so my temps don't really go above 60 even with the CPU fan at 400rpm. :)

The heatwave has increased my temps between 0-10C, gone from 35-44 on the cpu cores, though might be something to do with me refusing to turn up the fans :)
Everything is still working ok and well within the recommended temps so im not too bothered. OC is the same still.

For those who use Air-Cooling and overclock the extra heat could make the difference between a stable and unstable system! :(

My gaming system has had some problems since the summer heat arrive and pushed up the ambient temps, turned out to be the Northbridge getting to warm and needed some extra cooling to bring back stability!

Basically Summer is not a great time to be trying for huge overclocks, I guess its more a time to get away from the PC a bit and enjoy the good weather!

Nah what would I do for my gaming lol, my temps with cpu @ 3.2 and a freezer pro 7 push and pull fans is idle 37c and running prime its 59c so all is well but when the upgrade comes I really am getting the best of the best cpu coolers no matter the price, I will go short on some thing else to get the best one..;)
P:S new comp after Christmas going to the i7 setup..Hopefully..;)
Edit: Would try water but I worry incase I blow it all up with a leak..:(

It's added about 10c to my idle temps
- makes sense,, it seems to like to be 3c above ambient at any given time when idle.
Load it's made less of a difference, pushing from aboout 40c to about 45.

Looks to me like it shifts more heat relative to output, but less relative to ambient :-)

I find that to be prime stable I have to push my vCore from 1.475 to 1.5125 :-( that's quite a hike to maintain the overclock - tempted to drop it back towards 3.2 (half of my overclock over stock) to keep the temps and voltage down.

Probably added about 2 degrees to my cpu, but then ive bumped my pwm fans from their normal 400rpm upto 1200rpm, still pretty quiet too.

Heh I said "Huge" overclocks! :p

The processor seems quite resilient to increased temps but sticks of over-volted memory and the Northbridge don't seem to fair so well!

My vid card has climbed over 10c though in the last few days, not sure on the NB temp as i dont have any software to monitor it.:o

Me neither but Windows or games will crash, Memtest will throw up errors when the system has previously been stability tested to death in a cooler enviroment and run rock solid through-out.

My personal bug bear is that my front room is the hottest room in the house despite having the most windows? If I move the PC downstairs everything runs at least 8°C-10°C cooler bah! :D

I'm actually considering some simple water cooling for the Northbridge and Ram now as this heatwave isn't doing my overclocked systems any good! :(

Lol typical English grumble, Winters too cold, summers too hot heh!

At min.load +3c on Gpu & Cpu.

Can't be bothered to run under load - probably a good side effect of heatwave that it even drains my will to clock and test :)

Certainly not a good time to be building and testing imo - In fact have decided it's cold beer in garden time

Must be a n. ireland thing too:D, unfortunately my pc is in a room that gets direct sunlight from dawn to dusk, case and monitor are to big, and heavy to move to any other room.

Hey what you guys need is air con!! I have it and my temps are 22-26 with no load on cpu and 34-40 under full load with prime at an overclock of 4ghz on my EVGA 790i motherboard and QX 6850 Extreme. My 3 BFG 260s run at 30-32 no load and 40-42 under full load all clocked to 730 core clock, 1500 shader and 2500 on the memory. Its great!!

central a/c Hmm me want :D i'm sitting here @ 10:30 @ night back door open and windows wide open and it's still 31'c, cpu idle is 36'c and playing games 47'c with custom air

my cpu temps hit 70 after 3 hours on GRID just

highest i ever seen them

my room is boiling hot now

idling at 45

normal temps idle are 30 and i never usually see over 55 whilst gaming

Just get a window air unit for one room, those are less than $50usd over here, surely they aren't too expensive over there?
