**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

I think Man U, if they spend wisely, will be better with Ronaldo gone.

They relied far too much on him and with the money they have now got from his sale, now is the time to replace Scholes, Giggs etc.

It will be a bit like when RvN went. Ronaldo stepped up and replaced his scoring. This time I expect one or both of either Rooney and Berbatov to replace his goals - especially now that we will have a proper winger and we wont be going through ronny on every attack.

For his first season I thought Nasri has a really decent season. He needs to build himself up a bit, think the league shocked him a bit at first but he seemed to relish the challange and had a cracking game againest Man Utd. Defo one to watch next year, beware Real's £40mill bid for him in January.

It seems like Benzema has definitely signed for Real and Ribery is likely to go there if the interview with him is to be believed. Its frustrating that all the utd transfer targets are going to Real, who do you all think would be the best person to sign now?

The priority at the moment surely has to be a striker to replace the loss of Tevez?

I think we need to start looking into finding replacements for Scholes and Giggs too, as I don't think they have more than a season or two left in them.

I would like to see us sign Aguero, does anyone know what the situation is with him?

It's striker and midfielder for me.
The squad's carrying some dead weight in the middle of the park imo.
Scholes/Giggs are only clouding peoples judgement of how strong we are here, as they both are at best inconsistent and always on reduced games etc.
Likelwise, some fans have been so suprised that Fletcher has started to string two passes together that they have convinced themselves hes become michael essien.
He still isn't strong enough for the first 11 from an ideal squad.
So that leaves Carrick, Hargeves and Anderson.
Should Hargreves stay injury free and Anderson play like he's shown he can, its not a bad situation.
But with money in the bank, those seem big if's.
So I would like to see someone come in that can fill this area.
Up front, a selfish, dedicated goal scorer that wont try and do anything fancy could make a big difference and take a lot of pressure off Rooney.
