What is wrong with my WC setup?

I am running a core i7920 OC'd to 3.2GHz with a GTX295 and 6GB 1600MHz RAM.
Motherboard is ASUS P6T deluxe V2 and the case is a coolermaster cosmos.
My idle temps are 39-40C and when running intel burntest on 16 threads maximum I hit 68C.
My WC setup is Swiftech apogee GTZ CPU block, XSPC 750 BAY reservoir and pump, BLACKICE GT EXTREME 240mm RAD.
Why are my temps not lower?
What could I be doing wrong?
A decent air cooler would get be better temps.

Not in this ambient it wouldn't, unless your case airflow is extraordinary.

What fans on the radiator, are you using shrouds? Are they drawing cool air in from the outside?

If the answers to that are good ones/yes/yes then it's either the pump or bad mount, a thick 240 with high static pressure fans should be doing just fine with a 3.2ghz i7

I am using scythe kaze jyuni 1900RPM fans and they are drawing air from outside.
I am not using shrouds.
The rad is on the top of the coolermaster cosmos s case with the fans on the underside of the rad pulling air through the radiator fins.
What should my temps be?
How do I check for air bubbles?

To check for/get rid of bubbles you need to move your case around, tilt it at different angles and such. This will make any air that is trapped in there move around. Obviously air moves to the highest point it can get too and the tubes in the rad repeatedly go back and forth, so you may need to do this for a while to get rid of the air as it will be slowly moveing from end to end working its way out.

Personally I would try refitting the block as well. Make sure its got equal pressure at all 4 corners and the right ammount of thermal paste applied :)

I have refitted thae block and used AC4 TIM.
The best thing about this block is that it can be screwed tightly at all corners all the way.
What should my idle temps be?

Thanks but I though watercooling would give me far lower temps.
A decent aircooler would have given me the same if not better temps for a lot less money.

Its soo hot at the moment and temps arnt much better than a high end air cooler. Just it should be silent. Is the rad pulling cold air down into the case through the rad? Have u ran the case on its side?

Dont these chips run at like 90 degrees @ 4ghz, so based on that I think they looks absolutely fine.

With watercooling it doesnt always reduce the idle temps compared to air, it is the load temps + you will find high end air will be on par with water cooling, just not as silent.

I wouldnt worry at all with them temps.

You should be using shrouds. They make almost as much difference as mounting a second fan on the other side of the radiator.

I like scythe, but thought the jyuni were intended as case fans so may have less static pressure than you were hoping for.

It's not really fair to compare until you've set the water cooling up properly, i.e. use shrouds and consider push-pull with shrouds if it'll fit. I was under the impression that a 240 radiator was thought to be pushing it slightly with an i7 at the best of times.
I'm pretty certain the scythe jyuni on a true would give you worse temperatures than you're currently getting

shrouds

Does anyone have experience with the xspc double bay pump? I was warned off it when starting to look at water, but don't know much about it.
