HL2 Episode 3

I hope Ep3 Wraps everything up and we can move away from the Gordon Freeman/Gman Half Life and we can begin a new chapter as when playing HL2 and its episodes, I still have flashbacks to HL1 and still think it is related.

I personally want to see an end to the Gordon Freeman story, he is a gaming Legend but the more they push it, they may one day fall over and tarnish that.

The Half Life Universe certainly has legs although maybe, just maybe the Grim Reaper is closing in on Gordon Freeman :eek:

I think the Freeman still has plenty of life in him.

One of the brilliant things of the character is that there's nothing to him! Hardly any back story, no dialogue, nothing.

A main Half Life without Freeman wouldn't be Half Life.

If there is new characters, I'd love to see more of a HL2:Blueshift/opposing force jobby that runs in parallel.

Playing Barney or someone elses story helping evacuate City 17, and making their own way to White Forest, while GF is off doing his thing would be great, and add far more to the story.

Its quite funny - if any other developer had brought out a game with a character like this people would be saying how shallow he is etc its a good job half life was a great game lol

I want an end to the story, HL2 "Continued" from HL1 so in effect both are part of the same Story, I would like to see an end to this story.

I'd love to see a conclusion too, but I doubt very much that we'll get it in Episode three.

I just don't see enough time to explain everything so far nicely. Everything about the G-man, etc.

SWL: Are there any current plans after Episode 3 to have a Half Life 3?
DL: We haven't announced anything specific, but Half-Life won't end at Episode Three - hang on to your crowbars!

DL being Doug Lombardi (Valve's VP of Marketing)

I don't think you could have a proper Half-Life without Gordon Freeman. It'd be like making 24 without Kiefer.

Why? I'd have thought Episode 3 would be far more important to them? (As well as having a much larger market) :confused:

It is the Blue Shift / OpFor idea that really hooked me into the series, being able to play through the same story in a completely different way.

the good thing is that it wouldn't take that much to add a little spice with the portal tech, they've already laid down the back story for that one.

My personal thoughts are that Valve are busy working on another engine update, just they way they did between episodes one and two.

They will get round to it, but you must remember they've got 3 other projects to run as well.

Cant remember what it was called so will post here, wasnt there a remake of half life with the source engine that looked awesome was meant to be released soon?
