Christ! Google sucks now.

Yep annoys me a lot too, I don't know what exactly they have done but my search results page looks different, I think they changed the spacing or something.

Search results look exactly like ads used to before.

Overall looks the same as ever... only thing I can see that's changed is the sponsored links column is now much wider. Not that I care anyway as I never look at them.

May I suggest you try 'Bing' if Google is failing on you? Not used it myself but have been told it's a better alternative than most.

I only ever notice them when someone points them out :/

Huge amounts. I'm running some adverts there at the moment with a 12% click through rate :D. Usually click through rate's closer to 2% though on each individual advert so taking in to account that you might have 5 or 6 competing on a page you're looking at an advert being clicked on maybe 10% of the time.
 
What ads? I use opera so It must get rid of them automatically but I haven't touched anything, I just use!
 
I noticed the indentation a while back and wondered what they'd changed. As for the ads, I wondered where they'd got to. Turned out the answer was simple - Adblock Plus. :)
 
Google's changed for me too, but imo for the better. The indentation and change in font (I don't know exactly what they've done though) have made the listings easier on the eyes.

I use FF and adblock, not sure what you're on about. the only change I'ce seen is the search result suggestions which is actually quite helpful.
