You need to find the bit of paper that tells you XX = [two digits here]

Turn the dial right until it lands on 16, turn the dial left until it lands on 27, XX is the number on the piece of paper in the test tube, so you need to find out what that is and turn it right until it lands on that, then its left until you land on 57
