You can, very very easily.
To be fair, there not many decent ones going for 1500, which havent got either a lot of millage on or really rusty

When did I say a Saxo was refined?
I said my Clio was more modern and a nicer place to be.
The clio interior is relatively nasty although it is a lot better than the Saxo/106. The Fiesta or even the Corsa interior are better - and extremely nasty compared to something like a VW/Seat

My clio is a nicer place to be than a saxo aswell, but just because of the fact it isnt a saxo, and i dont have a citreon badge on the car. Saxo's around here are chavs cars and that is it so i personally wouldnt own one as that is what i have always seen them as.
I would go for the Zetec-S in the OP's postition even if i had to spend a bit extra to get hold of one, purely for the fact it looks better and to be honest isnt going to be left for dead by a VTR
You can't get a decent one for this kind of money, they are holding their value well and most in this price range are phase one's with over 100,000 on the dial.
I like them, I was going to buy one when I got my VTR but they were commanding a higher price.
They look lovely in imp/performance blue, what ever the shade is.
I would like to have a go in a 1.7 Fiesta Zetec S.
the 1.7 conversation is not worth it tbh, its doesnt make the car that much faster, however a 1.7 FRP conversation makes it a lot more fun.

Just by talking to it![]()
lol 9 seconds to 60...just made me giggle. I had a Ford Fusion hire car the other day, that was probably around 10 seconds...simply horrific!
At the end of the day a car has to be bought as a complete package, yes the VTS might have a bit more speed (although the OP asked about the VTR so you wouldnt even have that) but in every other respect the Fiesta is the better car.
