That was 37 league appearances and the 47 goals were in all competitions. He got 34 goals in 37 in the league and 47 in 49 in all comps which is still incredibly good.
Really? The Brazilian league is crap. He's scored most of his goals in the regional championship at only scored (whilst it was a hattrick) in only one proper league game.
yep, if he was willing to work hard he'd easily be worth a punt.
That's painful to watch
Ronaldo in SA - very unlikely, to many younger and "better" players to choose from - Maicon Marques Bitencourt or Nilmar Honorato da Silva are just to such players.
Ronaldo was a good player and in some ways still is, but he seriously lacks the stamina these days. let the new kids have a shot at his records...

It's not Europe, the players have bearly 2 months break and have to play in 40c heat sometimes. plus the uneven playing field of finance

The organisation is rubbish (schedule-wise) and the conditions aren't great I agree but you have to admit the standard is miles behind the top European leagues, especially England.
dont forget, most brazilians start playing competitevly from the age of about 9, some even younger like 7, they have also played on sand a lot. i like the south american teams a lot also, like the boca juniors, river plate - they have some quality players too.
