The Swine Flu Thread - All Swine Flu Rubbish In Here

Before the symptoms of swine flu reveal themself the person already has it and is spreading it around unknowingly. Other staff may have it but the symptoms have not shown up.

would you not goto work if someone there was sent home with flu?

It's not her normal job for a start. Personally, I wouldn't be happy in the OPs situation as I have a weak immune system and don't particularly enjoy losing weeks of my life to a virus.

EDIT: Just seen your edit - I would believe that the other person would be the concern.

if it is swine flu all other staff that has had contact should be sent home for at least the incubation period. If this isn't happening then that is shocking.

Swine flu only kills asian people

I'm not even sure this is worth replying but no, it doesn't.

But it's the choice between no flu and potential flu...

You might up the risks but you run the risk of catching swine flu almost anywhere now I suppose. Personally I'd probably go if it was work I needed and could do but since it isn't the question is academic for me.

I got sent home from some stupid course thing for two days this week due to a swine flu scare (apparently some bird who was in the group before me - incidently, a group I was supposed to be in - came down with the symptoms).

I'm guessing that this must be related to it in some way.

EDIT:

Wrong link. Try this instead.
