He is either the best defensive midfielder in the world and is worth best defensive midfielder in the world wages.

Or he is an average player and only worth £30k a week.

So which is it?

Best in the world and should be on as much as anyone else at the club, possibly barring Gerrard and Torres in my opinion.

Probably not but even by the ridiculous prices players have been going for this summer £8 million was about £3 or £4 million too much.
